Two owners have commented on this.

Gilbert, who is going to lose the league MVP soon, and Mark Cuban, who said he would do the exact same thing the Blazers did.

Use your head . . . tell you what . . . use your head to see this was an empty threat.

And if you are so convinced I'm not using my head, take advantage of my blindness and bet me about this lawsuit.

If Miles isn't guaranteed for the season, name your price on the bet that a lawsuit gets brought. Easy money for you papa

Yeah. But what if you were in fact doing something wrong? And let's say for the sake of argument you knew you were doing something wrong but were hoping to get away with it. I don't think your response would be quite the same.

Not at all. Karma will come back and bite anyone for wishing that to happen.

If I was doing something wrong and knew it. And I knew that I was doing something wrong against the richest person in the industry . . . I would expect a lawsuit and not threats. these people are in charge in a multi-billion dollar industry . . . they know the score.

I would expect threats from the little guy who couldn't afford to bring a lawsuit.

Come, nobody thinks that. He was terrible in Boston, he's terrible in Memphis. He isn't a good GM, he has never been a good GM, and he never will be a good GM.

Didn't Chris Wallace work for us before/after he was hired by Boston? I'm wondering if he had issues with Allen. Or maybe he is just a flaming douche.

Easy for you to say when it isn't your $9 million being heisted. The Blazers as a company are not Paul Allen. You do realize this, right? Haven't we already been through bankruptcy once with the Rose Garden? Now, the economy is much, much worse. Go ahead and bash the Blazers for protecting their interest. It doesn't surprise me at all.

I agree... But, if I'm Paul Allen, I then say to you, "Okay", and bring the lawsuit because I'm not in the habit of giving money away due to the incompetence of league/union appointed doctors. We'll see if you talk like that after dealing with Paul Allens legal team for awhile. Enjoy.

You're right. The guy is getting back to a franchise that once paid him.. I have even less respect for the guy.

He does seem to be unethical, if that counts.

Seriously, the NBA is a business. You and everyone else need to chill the fuck out. It's a business, and Portland is simply making a business move. It's a little desperate, but it's a business move, and ultimately, it will have little effect, as there will be at least one team that will sign Miles. But I truly believe, given current management, it's a business move, and I ultimately think Portland did is as they have little to lose. What, are you going to stop being a Portland fan? Everything else we've gone through, and them giving back what they got from a guy like Miles, and you'll stop being a Portland fan? Didn't think so. I'd think fans should be happy Portland is making business decisions and sticking it to the players that stuck it to Portland.

You know, in my little inconsequential world (compared to an Allen or Wallace) I have had my legal battles. Good attorneys help, but I will take the lesser attorney and facts on my side any day of the week. Hard to overcome the facts, and if I know they got nothing . . . bring that shit on.

Also note that your fantasy of always having civil legal fees paid for rarely happens in the real world.
