Looks like Kos isn't going anywhere after the big huff Dana White had with AKA fighters and more specifically AKA managment over signing their likeness rights away for the upcoming UFC video game. Many people wondered how renegotiations would go for AKA fighters when their contracts came up. Well Kos has just signed a 20 month contract with the UFC and will be fighting for them until almost 2011. Kos has stated that he'd like to fight 6 times in 2009.
I'm not a fan of his but his recent willingness to fight at the drop of a hat is admirable. Big contrast to his rival Diego Sanchez, who has fought four times since 2007 (six for Kos). Also, for some reason, I'm always surprised to remember he's on the ugly side of 30 now. Is he like Randy Couture, going to keep improving with age, or will the eventual drop in athleticism mean his decline overall?
Why did I get singled out? This is great news, I was hoping that he stayed in the UFC...Needs to fight BJ Penn for the title soon
Thats the first time I've seen a fighter sign a contract thats not in terms of fights but in actual duration of time. Isnt that sort of odd for a fighter?
I think most contracts have a time. that's why Tito can't fight is because his contract isn't up until like July or something. And during the whole Randy thing I believe he said he was allowed to fight past a certain date because his contract would be up.
