..regarding Memphis offering Conley, but KP wasn't interested. Appears that Conley's value has really slid..........

I'm having a hard time believing that during last off season we approached Milwaukie to trade one of the 3 top NBA 6th men for a PG that will be a journeyman at best when we had Sergio & Bayless as backup PG.

Before we drafted Bayless KP was interested in Conley and offered Outlaw for him. i think it was a smart move... We def. don't need him anymore, though. We may need a PG, but not a PG that would be battling for the backup role and would probably lose.

whats worse is that outlaw is being offered staright up for conley. his value must be pretty low. if outlaws value is that bad...then what the hell could sergio get us?

With all of the bullshit that comes out of Memphis I somehow wonder if the Blazers ever offered anything at all for Conley.

I was thinking the same thing. Chris Wallace seem to be a talker, though. There are more rumors about Memphis than just about any other team.

So this report is contradicting everything we've heard so far and most of us thought it was bullshit anyways. Remember the Blazers were the ones upping the ante and still hadn't met the Grizzlies' demands? Fuck them.

It would be great to have Conley as our 3rd PG behind Bayless and Blake though, but not for our 6th/7th man.

Didn't we also hear that they offer Mike Miller for Trout and we turned them down as well.

Us offering Trout for Conley smells like horse shit.

why would any seasoned fan take a trade rumor as fact? We see the same nonsense every year, and every year reported rumors come true close to 0% of the time. The smell test you refer to should be mandatory.

From my understanding, the source of most rumors are the player's agents who are trying to get their client some pub or at least make it seem like things are happening. NBA front office types have little reason to do more then perfunctory interviews with the Quicks of the world and are mostly focused on the art of making saying nothing sound like something when they do. Occasionally they'll throw out smokescreen diversions to throw the hounds off the path of whats really happening (if anything). Both scenarios produce BS

    File it under fiction.

KP doesn't even like Conley's game.

Memphis wanted Sessions AND Milwaukee's lottery pick with Alexander... for Conley? Wow... Chris Wallace, what are you smoking lately in thinking you could pull that off? I wonder if the Bucks laughed in his face.. or maybe it's just me that believes that's fairly uneven.

I think that's a lopsided deal, too. But I guess it all depends on whether you believe Conley's talent is equivalent to where he was drafted. I thought Conley was overdrafted, so I've considered him overrated from the start.

Conley had great stats because he had a huge center to dump the ball to all year at OSU. Makes ya wonder why we can't get him the ball the same way with better PG's?
