I don't like to admit it, but there was a fair amount of home cooking. I get annoyed when other teams get unwarranted calls on their home court, I wish we could have won without it. We probably would have won anyway, but it would have been a very close game.
I thought Sergio had a pretty good game, better in the second half than the first. He did what he was supposed to do, he fed the big men. I thougth Bayless played ok while he was in too, he did what he was supposed to do, which is bring energy and attack the rim. The thing I would point out is, without Steve Blake, the Blazers have gone what, 3 and 2 so far? A lot of folks said we would miss him, but so far, I really don't. In fact, I would have to say I am happeier, because when Sergio and Bayless are taking the minutes, I have noticed the Blazers are taking a lot less 3 pointers, which IMO is a good thing.
Its such a relief to watch a player constantly get to the FT line like Jerryd. He got there 6 times in 14 minutes. The kid is special. I would like to start him... he is averaging like 15, 3 and 2 over the last 3 games in about 24mpg... Take some pressure off of Roy having to get to the rim so much in the 1st quarter, maybe save his body and some energy for later inthe game.
