Will we ever win a title with LeBron in his prime?

I brought this up before. Watching him kick our ass last night reminded me that if we're going to put together dynasty that we want, we're going to have to go through LeBron who will want to be stringing together titles like MJ did. I'm worried that we will be the perennial runner-ups. Thoughts? It was cool to see Oden and Outlaw block him last night though.

    Legit question.

BTW, didn't LMA have a block on James last night? I seem to recall that...especially in light of that recent Quick piece regarding Aldridge's D.

How many titles has LeBron won?

What about when Oden, Roy and Aldridge are in their prime?

None, but he is clearly on the verge and ahead of schedule from where MJ was at this point in his career, having already been to the Finals and with his team currently on its way to a 60 win this season in only his 6th year in the league.

And yea, I think LMA blocked LeBron too. Forgot about that one.

Bron got swatted by LA and Greg. I think he should be more worried about our big 3 then us about him!

I'm not worried until he does win a title. Just because he is ahead of schedule that Jordan set doesn't make him Jordan. He isn't a champ until he wins one.

    Hard question to tell.
LeBron's in his fifth season. Roy and Aldridge are only in their third years, give them two more and they're just going to be even better. Add in Oden's seasoning, and get him into his fifth year eventually and who knows how good he will be.

I expect LeBron to get his fair share of titles, but we'll be right there challenging him if we stay on course.

It's LeBron's 6th season. He was drafted the same year as Outlaw.

Gerald Wallace also went off on us. LeBron was amazing last night, but we have our own things to sort out before we start worrying about other teams/players.

As terrifyingly good as LeBron is, he just doesn't have a teammate as high a quality as Scottie Pippen. Jordan could have a series every once in a while where he wasn't completely dominant, and Pippen would still carry so much of that team.

If LeBron has a bad series, the Cavs simply don't advance. Now, LeBron is so good that I doubt he has a bad series that often. But that still means there are going to be a lot of years where the Cavs just don't make it.

Now if Cleveland can pull off a deal where they can add a star to play beside him, it's going to be tough.

The Blazers were in the game down to the end despite not having their starting PG and without any of their "Big Three" having a good game. I know that the Cavs didn't have Ilgauskas or West, but Z isn't likely to be much of a factor during the Blazers' prime run time (which is about 3 years out). I think it's a little off to try to draw too much of a conclusion from last night's game about future prospects against the Cavs.

That said, I'd sure like to see James in a Blazer uniform. :)

They aren't waiting for the sake of waiting Mixum. "Let the cake bake" is code for "there isn't a good move to be had out there for us". The guys we want to move (Outlaw, Sergio, maybe Martel) don't have any real trade value. It's hard to find a team willing to part with a good player, who's not overpaid or injury prone, and who has good character. In baseball? No problem. There's always a team dumping somebody once they are out of the playoff race. Basketball is different. Even that Pau Gasol trade we joke about - the Grizz don't look as stupid now that Marc Gasol is looking good, plus they got lots of draft picks.

Raef's expiring isn't going to get it done on it's own either. I think they're stuck. What does trading Travis for Mike Conley really accomplish? That's the kind of crap that's out there. Most of the "talented" players on our roster haven't reached their potential yet. How valuable do you think Martel Webster is? Should we give him away when he might still be the sweet stroking SF we crave? I know you don't like Rudy - are you ready to part with him now? When his value is only so/so? He shows flashes of being really good some nights. It's the preverbial catch-22.

When Lebron wins A title, then bring this question up. Hell, he may go to NY and get stuck on a terrible team again and have to wait for decent players to be added around him like he is just now getting in Cleveland.

I will let time tell and not worry about the uncertain.

Lebron is fierce! That said his team is very average and not good enough as they stand now to beat the Lakers, Celtics or Magic. They may not be even good enough to take out the Hornets in a best of 7. The question then becomes who else can the Cavs get to go along with Lebron or who could Lebron team up with next year that would infact be better then our triple threat in the making? Now if Howard and Lebron ever get on the same team in the next four years, we are in big trouble!!! That's the only other player I can see that would give Lebron a decided edge over the talent our team "will become". Kobe would take away from Lebron, CP would need the ball in his hands more than Lebron could handle, Dirk, Tim, KG all getting old, Yao to soft, Shaq to old.

Roy will be on the level of Paul Pierce mixed with Ray Allen, LA will be better than Sheed I think, and Oden if he pans out could be the next coming of Bill R. Those three damn good parts may be better than one great one. Atleast I hope!
