    Roy tonight: 22pts, 10stl, 7ast, 6trb, 2blk

Take those first 4 stats, put 'em into the ol' basketball-reference.com player game finder and you get only two other hits. Michael Finley in 2001, and Clyde Drexler in 1996. Add those two blocks, and Brandon is alone in the last 22 years of the NBA.

All the starters had good games, that's the key.

They changed one of Roy's rebound to a steal, so he only had 5 rebounds and 10 steals.

The postgame highlights had 3, 2 from Sergio and 1 from Roy.

Doesn't change the results much. Those two blocks still set him apart from the rest.

I hear you about the general principle of the matter (thousands of people chanting for refried beans can seem odd at face value), but what do you mean by "lose all control"? Are you saying that the otherwise quiet, restrained Rose Garden crowd suddenly breaks down and goes crazy just for the chalupas? I don't think that's quite fair. I can tell you that I have never had a chalupa in my life, but I still chant it with everyone else, just because it's fun. Try it, I dare you. It's impossible to chant CHA-LU-PA repeatedly with a straight face.

It's all about fun, maintaining interest in otherwise wrapped up games, and yes, product placement tie-ins. I don't think it's indicative of a serious societal flaw regarding food any more than the use of Blaze the "trail cat" (or whatever he is) as the team mascot shows a lack of respect for wildlife.

I'm sure troll boy Mixum can find something bad about Roy having 9 steals and the Trail Blazers win tonight.

Yeah. If only we had some kind of clutch go-to player on this team...

Yup. That puts him with those two player PLUS Ron Harper.

However, each of those players had 4 or more turnovers, Roy had 1.

Put "troll boy" on your ignore list and you won't have to worry about it. It sure makes it a lot more enjoyable to be here.

Even though Greg didn't have much to go up against tonight, it's still great to seem him have a productive night. Anything and everything that builds his confidence is a very good thing.

Yep. When one guy is going good, you don't want the rest of the team to turn into spectators.

Easy: "The Wizards are challenging the Oklahoma City Thunder for the worst record in the league. Let's see him do it against a real team."

I think mixum brings a valid point of view to the forum which is that our current team won't go the distance and we need a trade. I'm of the opposite point of view. I don't want anyone traded (though I wouldn't miss Frye or Sergio.)

I forgot Channing was on our team until you just mentioned him in your post. I guess that means I wouldn't miss him either.

To be quite honest, I'm not very happy about our play. I'm glad we got the win, but this game just made me lose more confidence in Nate McMillan.

LaMarcus Aldridge and Greg Oden were BEASTING in the low block. The Wizards simply did not have an answer. Yet instead of going to them more often, we stayed in our perimeter offense, shooting jumpers and forcing up three pointers. When we came out the second half, I thought Nate would have went to our bigs, yet we ended up shooting 5 jumpers in a row. It's nice that our shots started falling, but (and I hate to sound all MIXUM-y) good teams will score in the paint when their shot isn't falling, and Portland goes cold from the outside quite often.

It's simply mindblowing how you can have two legitimate low post threats and yet the coach won't use either of them for more than 5 times a game. I'm dumbfounded.
