A very great friend gave me a couple tickets for the game tonight! Thank you, friend!

What a great game. Outlaw completely scorched the Clippers in the 4th quarter. Man, that was one of his best games ever. I haven't looked at a final box score yet but I think Roy, Oden, and Travis combined for 26 of 31 shooting?? How frickin amazing is that? Great game from Oden. Missed a couple rebounds but was still pretty great. I like what I'm seeing from him now and you can see he's getting more confident. Brandon was, of course, sensational. He started the game like Travis finished it. Props to Rudy for hitting the three at the end of the third quarter that broke the camel's back.

The arena was pretty empty when the game started but filled up a bit as the game got going. There were lots and lots of Blazers fans. Everyone went crazy when Oden was introduced and they cheered like mad whenever he dunked. Oh, and what was up with Roy's dunk?? Amazing. Crowd went nuts! Is that on YouTube yet? I haven't read this forum yet. I want to let you know what it was like before reading your comments.

What happened to Steve Blake? Was it just too early for him to return or was there a specific reaggravating moment? I didn't notice anything was wrong til Sergio started the second half. I suppose I should've noticed when Jerryd came in the second half but I just thought Nate was giving Jerryd a few 3rd string minutes. And that's the other thing-- so it looks like Jerryd will stay at third string? I thought he'd move up but it looks like if Steve is healthy, Jerryd won't get to play. He played pretty well tonight though. Again, I haven't looked at the boxscore but I assume Maris' beloved +/- stat was heavily in favor of Jerryd.

One final note- Ike and Channing played one on one during warmups and neither scored.

    Go Blazers

Not sure who set the pick on "Stevie," (My pet peeve dammit mike rice!) but when Blake tried too bust through it or just didn't see it, he ran straight into him with the strapped up shoulder. He was off grimacing in pain after that.

Blake had already had an airball when his reinjured his shoulder, and he was struggling defensively. It's a mystery to me how he was given time by Nate, he clearly didn't look ready to play. All credit to him for gutting it out but this looks like Martell II the sequel, hopefully his shoulder isn't any worse off.

Yeah, WTF is up with our coaching/training staff permitting our injured guys to come back too soon? Martell has been out an extra month and a half after re-injuring his foot. Now Blake re-injures his shoulder and he'll probably be another week or two. I know these guys want to play and may plead and say they're ready, but shouldn't our staff be cautious and wise enough to know when they are truly ready. Damn, it's frustrating. I guess they didn't learn from their first mistake of bring Martell back too early. :dunno:
