I'm kind of glad it worked out the way it did. Sure Portland lost some cap space, but I don't like the alternatives.

Fact: Even though Miles is risking knee replacement surgery, he is playing meaningful minutes and continues to do so even after "screwing" Portland. The guy can play NBA basketball and has better stats than many members of the uniformed Blazers.

If Portland claims Miles, he either sits on the bench pissing and moaning, or he is exiled from Portland and the whole league talks about how wrong it is for the Blazers to not allow him a chance to play for the entire season making it a point of distraction for the entire team. It also could lead to the temptation of overpaying a FA, so you could have a negative image, bad karma, and a bloated contract.

I think Memphis taking Miles and actually playing him may actually be a good thing in the long run.

It circumvents the cap by preventing the medical retirement exception procedure from taking place.

Good post. I am so ready to be done with this issue . . . and I'm guesssing the league and Blazer front office are done with issue.

And I don't know how I ever got to this point being a Blazser fan . . but good Miles, hope he can find a team that he fits with.

Miles with another decent game tonight . . .

Miles shoots literally every time he touches the ball, doesn't matter where he is. When does his contract end already?

Unfortunately, Memphis has no one better to take his place.

    The curse lives on.

Ever since Miles set foot on the court in a Grizzlies uniform, nothing good has happened for that pathetic franchise.

Their losing streak is now 11 games. Tonight's loss was by double digits to the lowly OKC Thunder. Since putting Miles on the court, they've gone from a young team with promise to the laughing stock of the league. They're not just losing, they're losing to bad teams by double digits. Their average margin of defeat over the past 11 games is 13.2 points, and 7 of their 11 losses have been to sub-0.500 teams.

They better cut Miles loose soon, or they may not win another game the rest of the season.

    Fear the curse.

For those who say Miles is playing well, I wonder how many have actually watched him play? More likely, those people just check the box scores.

When I see him play, it's painful to me. I remember how effortlessly he used to glide up and down the court. Now he labors like Shawn Kemp in his time as a Blazer. He runs like I used to before I gave up the ghost and admitted to myself that the pain I was feeling in my knee was real and wasn't going away.

He's putting up nice numbers, but he's cherry picking on offense and makes Travis Outlaw look like Steve Nash. When Darius gets the ball in his hand, he shoots it. There's a reason when you look at +/- numbers in the box score, Darius' are almost always the largest negative.

I think Train dumps him after this 10 day deal ends.

I went to the movies and saw The Wrestler last night. Broken down Darius "Ram Jam" Miles can't quit the game, the game is going to have to quit on him. His perseverance is both admirable and sad as everyone can see the wheels have come off. Hopefully he's enjoying his last trots up and down the court.

He's not helping them win any games.
