since when is butler in the same league as wade, kobe, and lebron?

did it ever occur maybe they want to build around a different player they feel that they can sign in 2010???? obvioulsy butler, arenas, and jamison arent getting them where they wanna go.

We would't want Marion I predict and Toronto would be foolish to trade Calderon without getting Bayless back. Bosh would certainly jump ship if Toronto plays the salary-dump card.

A bird in hand is worth two in the bush, so to speak. There is going to be intense competition for the really big name free agents that summer and when the pool of suitors outnumbers the free agents, some team is going to be left out in the cold.

I agree the wizards are probably going nowhere with Arenas, Butler, Jamison as their core, but I'm guessing they'll try to move Jamison long before they move Butler.

Really? I would challenge you to find a better expiring cap than Raefs 12 million dollars which is being paid for by insurance, so there is indeed, no payment on it by owner. Its usually a bonus to be getting rid of 12 million dollars off of your cap, but when you don't even have to pay the one year of salary due to insurance covering it, the owners really dig that.

Ummm...next time you try to call me out on a post I wrote...understand what point your argueing. I didn't say a better expiring contract....but a better deal involving young talent and draft picks.....read and understand...then respond...

I'm not saying Raef's contract isn't nice...but if this was only a salary dump...Butler would be the last to go since he has a reasonable contract and is young while playing a high level. It would take more that Raef, Outlaw and Sergio in a deal to pry Butler away. Like I mentioned before...Washington would hang up the phone unless talks started revolving around Bayless and a pick...at least

Well that's part of the problem with forums. What I read said to me you said the expiring contract was not as good as what was out there. Now if you had said the package of Raef, Sergio and Outlaw was inferior to other offers, it would come across clearer. It's all in how you read it.

Maybe you should backup your argument with an example. Saying "that deal sucks, they can get a better one" is kind of weak. Give an example of a better deal. Personally It's why I don't get into trade arguments, I suck at coming up with trades.

You left out Marvin Williams...a player POR mgmt has allegedly expressed interest in (there were rumours of POR trying to acquire him before)....and Bibby would certainly be a major upgrade over Blake....

Both are due to be FA this year and chances are very good that ATL loses one, if not both of them in FA for nothing....

its just so stupid... how so many think you have to trade all stars for all stars. Its also insane how so many in this forum think sergio has so much potential yet when we offer him in trades...hes called scarps.

if KP never proposed trades... none could get accepted. There was a time when Gms thought Miles was gonna be a superstar and would have traded for him. Who knows how they feel about sergio or outlaw not to mention raefs contract.

    Give me a break Mixum...

You really think that a team with Bayless (or Sergio), Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, Al Horford, Zaza Pachulia with a bench of Outlaw, Frye & Law\Claxton couldn't make the playoffs in the top heavy EC?

I think they could...and they would have some young guys tied up on cheap contracts for a few years and possibly (I haven't checked) cap space to add other players...

Sorry, but for a team that is in financial turmoil.....this deal makes a lot of sense....

not if they wanna WIN in the playoffs.

Ive tried telling people here that sergio and outlaw will never be on a winning playoff team that goes far. They just arent smart players. If you wanna beat the spurs, hornets or lakers.... you arent doing it with those clowns.

Imagine the spurs and blazers in round 1.... they would be licking their chops to get outlaw or sergio in the game lol

and btw....i doubt we trade bayless.

they wanna mover sergio and outlaw...not bayless

What, you think they're gonna win in the playoffs with their current roster against the likes of Boston, Orlando, or Cleveland? Very slim chance of them getting very far, and then they'd probably lose some of their key guys for nothing. Best to make a trade, still make the playoffs, and have cheap contracts.

I doubt we trade Bayless too, but I think it makes sense for Atlanta.

I have never seen or heard KP express any interest in any of these players becoming a Blazer.

    Never.

    Link?

What about Bibby and the rights to Childress? Can they trade his rights at all?
