Has anyone noticed something disturbing about our starters?

That 2 out of the 5 average 4 points or less? Which means 8 points on most nights. thats just unacceptable. and yet i see people actually say we dont need a trade.

news flash..... we arent plying the clippers, wiz and banged up bobcats this week. this time next week, i think many will realize its a must for a trade.

this week will tell just how "good" we realy are. and imo...tonight is an absolute must win.

Did we ever figure out who told Mixum about this forum? Was that really necessary?

Doesn't Portland have one of the highest scoring benches in the league? I'm too lazy to look it up right now, but I'd guess we're top 5 if not top 3.

Portland has one of the most efficient offenses in basketball. It's simply hidden by the fact that they play at such low pace that it keeps the team PPG down. Slow pace limits possessions on both teams, so PPG is irrelevant. What matters, offensively, is how efficient the team is in turning possessions into points, and Portland is one of the best.

Offense is not the concern, defense (especially on the perimeter) is.

That observation seems to be factually incorrect.

    Batum 4.7
    Oden 9.0
    Blake 11.3
    LMA 17.6
    Roy 22.4

Now, if you want to call Sergio a starter, then he's at 4.3 for the season. But as a starter, he averages 6.3.

None of those 6 players average 4 points or less.

By the way, I like how you used the numbers of our "starting PG"...can't use Blake's because he'll be out for another week or two. It's not like he isn't on the team anymore, and Sergio/Bayless will get more points than their averages in his absence. But enough feeding the monster.

deletedHere is an example of a fairly successful team with two starters who didn't average more than 6.3 PPG:

2007 NBA Champions: San Antonio Spurs.

They started Bowen with 6.3 PPG and flip flopped between Oberto and Elson with 4.8 and 5.0 PPG respectively. Really care to assert that those extra three points made THE difference?

So it's pretty damn close to what you're complaining about. Did I mention they won the whole thing?

I'll just point out that our two "starters" who don't average 6 PPG both have at least 6 points already only about 4 minutes into the game.

Heh. Everyone who uses a personal attack thinks their target deserves it. ;)

    No, not even then.

Deserves? Deserves got nothing to do with it.

"Personal Attack" sounds so much more serious. I think I just called him *edited* or something (I don't even remember specifically). And of course he deserved it...if you're gonna start a thread like this one with the logic he did.

But as I said, this thread getting longer is probably only going to help Mixum get off on someone actually paying attention to him.

Yeah yeah yeah. Is it really that bad? I think suggesting that Mixum "gets off" to getting attention (via being annoying) would be more offensive, albeit equally true ::pimp:

Yet, on most night's we win. Why isn't that acceptable? The goal is to win the game, not pad individual stats. The Sacramento King's have SEVEN players averaging in double figures. Do you prefer their 10 - 38 record to our 29 - 17?

I'm taking ibuprofen in situations like these. Are you sure you're taking your special kinds of meds?
