Can it get any worse? It's not that we lost to the Thunder (of all team!) but the entire season we've seen this slow, stale, predictable offense. It's the give-it-to-Roy-and-get-out-of-his-way play. We don't push the ball. We have a roster full of athletes and shooters it only makes sense to play at a higher tempo. We are dead last in the League in terms of offensive possessions per game. Greg is raw but the fact that Nate doesn't have any plays for him is concerning. Nate is stunting the growth and development of the players with his horrible offense. When his contract is up, which thankfully wasn't picked up, who would fit this team better? Just get Nate a one-way ticket back to Seattle.
If it's a "Fire" Nate bandwagon, shouldn't you be advocating for the firing of Nate McMillan, and not waiting for his contract to run out? I think this is just a knee jerk reaction, even if I don't like him.
We know he wont be fired, even though that's what I REALLY want to see. Our only option is waiting his contract out. When his contract wasn't picked up I remember the guys on 1080, and also Kenny Vance, saying that McMillan wasn't a coach that can get you a title. The sooner Vulcan realizes this the better.
Who is an available coach that will bring a title? edit; saw Van Gundy in your sig....that would be nice. we're fine though..no rush, let nate get to the playoffs and we'll go from there.
Mike Fratello or Paul Silas are my ideal replacements. But I'm not certain we need a change right now. We have exceeded expectations as of now. I believe Mediocre Man really wanted us to get Terry Porter, he championed for him quite a bit. Look at that great job he's doing down in The Land of the Sun.
I'd like Van Gundy only because I'm pretty positive if we continued to switch on the pick and roll he'd start hitting his own players with chairs to make it stop.
That aint gonna happen, he's already said in the past that he has zero interest in being a coach ... besides he's much more valuable as a personnel guy.
Considering he used it a lot of times with Damon/Van Exel/Telfair and Joel during his interim coaching period I'd say he does.
Larry Bird was a heck of a coach with the Pacers. I wonder if he has any interest in returning to coaching?
