    VINCE CARTER - http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/57066/20090206/spurs_interested_in_vince_carter/

don't know how but they'd be d*mn scary if this happened... i'd sya they'd be a lock for the West's 2nd spot. We already know the spurs can Defend, Carter brings more guns to the table (maybe Finley, is he and expiring?, and some picks?)

    AMARE STOUDEMIRE - http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3890478

Will the suns be stupid enough to push through with this? who will be the lucky team to rape steve kerr?

    SHAWN MARION - http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/57059/20090206/hornets_consider_chandler_for_marion/

    SHAQ - http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3890478

Shaq's collecting Jersey's instead of rings now huh? LOL

    UDRIH - http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_a..._may_unload_udrih_to_dallas_magic_or_hornets/

    SALMONS - http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/57021/20090204/thunder_interested_in_salmons/

Why the hell would OKC do this? they already have good wing players... they should keep all their assets (picks, young players, etc) for the future.

    BRAD MILLER - http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_a...and_chicago_could_still_deal_for_brad_miller/

Seems like things aren't what they seem leading up to the 2010 free agency LOL.

thoughts? what do you think might get done? i personally am scared of the VC trade.

The one that really jumped out to me was Stoudemire. I didn't realize that things were that bad with him and Phoenix. If he gets traded to Chicago, that would be amazing, especially if the main chips they'd give up are Ty Thomas and Joakim Noah.

Carter to Toronto! Even though this would never happen, I would not be against it. The guy can still play and he could give us some very nice scoring. However, if this happens, I can see people being stubborn and hating him still. I would be happy he came back.

That's a fuggin ripoff for Phoenix. I'd try to force him to Portland for Aldridge first, then explore other options.

I dont think Portland is gonna give up Amare, plus Kerr wouldnt be stupid enough to trade inside the western conference, to one of the better up and coming teams

What the hell? Trading in the conference isn't exactly a tabooed thing, you know. Especially when Phoenix is going down the drain and Portland will be a good team one way or the other.

ESPN - potential trades for Amare

What a ridiculous idea. Highway robbery by the Bulls, Phoenix gets nothing. Two young power forwards who are both busts, a shooting guard who might be an NBA starter as his career apex, and Drew Gooden. That's just horrible.

New York makes out like bandits here, but this isn't that bad for Phoenix. Marbury's expiring contract is gigantic, and Lee and Robinson are both guys you can build around. NY would have to include picks though, which might get dicey.

In the article... yeah, no shit the Knicks would only be able to pursue one star in 2010... because they already have another that would have been a FA that year!

Both teams win, this is a fairly plausible scenario. Marion also has a gigantic expiring contract, and Beasley is probably the best prospect Phoenix will get for Stoudemire. Miami gets Stoudemire and pairs him with Wade, and they (I think) vault up to just below Boston/Cleveland territory.

OKC's best bet to get some talent in there, but Phoenix doesn't get nearly enough talent in return. Although OKC has been harvesting draft picks, now would the time to use them if Phoenix is to really consider this. Interesting to think how good this would make OKC next year.

Laughable. First, the #1 object of any deal Detroit makes should be subtracting one of the three-guard glob they have (preferably send Iverson packing). When you look past that, though, this is robbery for Detroit. As for the Suns, they get scorched. Wallace is expiring, yes, but Amir Johnson won't amount to anything useful in his career. Maybe a team's sixth man, which doesn't really make this worth the Suns' while.

This is a good start, but more would have to go Phoenix's way in terms of talent. Cleveland can/will give them a player that could be a viable replacement for Stoudemire, and maybe Gibson or Pavlovic can be thrown in on top of Szczerbiak, though that leaves kind of a hole at the two for the Cavs. As for Cleveland, I'm not sure Amare's the best fit for them. As a Celtic fan, if it came to them making this deal or a Mike Miller deal, I'd prefer Cleveland does this. Amare's a scorer who wants the ball, and is not renowned for his defense (nor is he very interested in playing defense, which won't sit well with Mike Brown, as mentioned in the article). He's not going to see an increase in touches with LeBron and Mo in the mix. I could actually see this being a small disaster for Cleveland.

This isn't the least bit feasible. Phoenix gets nothing, Memphis will be an 8 seed next year and then watch Amare leave for nothing.

    Potential trades for Shaq

    Potential trades for Shaq

For the Lakers, this a home run. For Phoenix, its loads of cap money. It makes sense.

    lol

Since BSPN could only think of two Shaq scenarios, allow me a couple:

    http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=4981247

Shaq for Iverson, straight up. Phoenix gets a shitload of cap room at season's end, Detroit A) gets a big man who can still produce, and form an actual, real inside presence, unlike Sheed, and B) undoes the three guard mess that Iverson created.

    http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=4981287

Shaq for Nene, Linas Kleiza, a first rounder (assuming Denver's pick situation is okay), and Steven Hunter (contracts). Shaq, as mentioned, is a true center and still productive enough to make Denver a serious threat. For Phoenix, Nene is talented player who's still relatively young, and Kleiza isn't half bad either. Only potential issue is, Kleiza's (pretty meager) salary expires this summer, and Hunter's deal expires in 2010, and neither expiring deal is that big.

 @ the idea of the Lakers trading for Shaq. It isn't going to happen. We just made a trade, the only trade you'll see us make.

I'm not surprised. The minute Kerr traded for Shaq he ruined that franchise. Shaq ran D'Antoni out of Phoenix and now he's running Amare out. Not to mention Steve Nash is having a sub-par season and looks far from the MVP caliber player he was two years ago.

Anyone notice how well the Suns played the other night against the Warriors when fatass was on the bench in foul trouble?

If that's the case, how about the Jazz trade Carlos Boozer + Morris Almond + NY Knicks unprotected first rounder 2010 for Amare Stoudemire? Thoughts?

Though I wouldn't do it if it meant Paul Millsap would have to walk in free agency.

The Suns are a much better team when Fats is on the bench. They're able to space the floor a lot better because he's not clogging the lane, making running the pick and roll with Nash and Amare a lot easier in the process. Oh yea, plus they can run a lot more effectively, which just happens to be strong suit of that team, and that's something their jackass GM Kerr doesn't realize.

No way in hell are we trading odom for shaq at this point.

what would our lineup look like when Bynum comes back? Fish - Kobe - Pau - Bynum - Gasol? Surely you won't expect someone earning 20M a year be our 6th man? LOL

if Shaq's current deal expires, and Kobe manages to get a ring without shaq, that's when we should start talking about shaq making a return to LA (for the MLE!)

Amare to the Heat??? D*mn. It would make them instant contenders next year Chalmers - Wade - Whoever - Amare - Big (as long as they get a defensive big man to man the post)

Amare to NYK would be Phoenix (this year) then would dominate the league in 2010 when LeBron comes to town.

Amare to the Bulls would give them their own star studded crowd Rose - Gordon - Deng - Amare - Noah. Yikes

As a Celtic fan, that's great news.
