To add to this, we also proved to ourselves that we can beat them and the Cavs, on their court, without Bynum, which is huge for us depending on how long he's out.
A truly great team isn't shitting themselves about home court advantage. San Antonio has 4 rings and has had HCAT in one of those seasons (1999).
Like Thrilla, you'll be eating major shit when you get owned by the Lakers' in June, if you can even make it that far.
You'll be eating major shit once you're eliminated. It doesn't even matter who eliminates you, the way you guys have been sucking the Lakers' cocks, I'll be in here every day for at least a month starting all sorts of shit. Owning you freaks once was great, but seeing you people get owned against this year... the thought is practically orgasmic.
That team is also veteran laden and doesn't have the youth that we have. People like Gasol and Odom still have only really been deep in the playoffs once, and that was last season. When you're a younger team, having homecourt advantage is always going to be more important than it would be to a team like the Spurs, who have players that have been there, done that a few times.
It's getting hot in hurr. I really wanna see LA vs. Boston to see these boards explode. I also wanna see Portland vs. LA in the West Finals for the ultimate s2 basketball posting explosion.
Do you honestly think there is a team out West that can beat us? Maybe the Spurs, but if Bynum is healthy come playoffs, I can't see them stopping us. Aside from them though, I can't really see a single threat out West. As for the East, we've proven we can beat the top two teams in the East, and unless the Magic have Jameer Nelson, they're not going to be much of a threat either. To put in this way, if we're healthy, I don't think there's a team who can beat us. We have tons of depth, one of the best frontcourts in the NBA, plus the best player in the NBA. The only thing that could stop us is our erratic defense, but even then, we've proven time and again that we're more that capable defensively when we need to be, stepping up frequently against the NBA's elite teams.
Not really...I was really saying that experience is pretty big, which is why homecourt would be great for us, because aside from Fisher and Kobe, our team doesn't have a huge amount of playoff experience.
If we have another Boston vs. LA Finals, this board would be pretty crazy, lots of passionate Laker and Celtic fans here. And if there was as Portland vs. LA playoff matchup...could you say post padding FTW?
I think it is funny that JE is so confident when it is obvious his Celtics aren't the best team in the league this year. Being the defending champs only allows you so much confidence, but your bravado is comical. The Lakers > Cavs > Celtics.
Shit on your parade? Well someone has to knock you people down a peg or two. Its for your own good, it'll make the summer a little bit easier.
Back at you. LA has proven nothing. Going into someone's arena in the regular season and winning there isn't proof of anything, except your eagerness to crown this team the greatest of the last 30 years. Oh yeah, the Celtics have 2 more wins and 2 more losses than you this year. So we're practically equal, record-wise.
I'd even post pad. I'd have a Lakers GT in the Raps forum that linked to the Lakers and Blazers forum.
Really? They proved a lot of people wrong who called them a soft team. They played very physical basketball against the Celtics. It's also huge to their confidence to be able to beat two elite teams, without Bynum, on the road.
The East sucks, no one is equal to us. It is easy to run a streak up over there with the kind of teams competing for a #8 seed.
