Is on the Courtside now saying that KP is obviously being very active in trade talks across the league. He also mentioned Portland is seriously interested in Richard Jefferson and the Blazers have inquired about him on the past. He confirmed they were one of 7 teams that inquired with the Suns about Amare but thinks it's a poor fit. He says Vince is a better fit for this team in terms of a veteran presence.
Ric actually said that he knows KP is a big Jefferson fan and had conversations in the past about acquiring him. He didn't seem to have specifics about current trade talks. But that does seem to fit with Quick's comments last week.
Trav and Raef for Jefferson! They would have to send back somebody else, but I think I would do this yesterday!
I wouldn't particularly like an Outlaw/LaFrentz deal for Jefferson. I don't think he's much of an upgrade on Outlaw (now...in the past he was), so it would be giving up the LaFrentz money for nothing. I wouldn't be up in arms, and I guess I would be hoping Pritchard sees something in Jefferson that I don't (entirely possible), but my early reaction would be mildly unfavourable. Now, if Sessions were involved...that would change things...
Numbers don't matter to Maris. He's admitted he doesn't watch the NBA except for Blazer games so his guess on talent evaluations is what it is.
And you can't compare numbers, Jefferson has always been a top 2 option, where Travis is lucky if he is 4 or so.
he's been a moderately more efficient player in recent years, and a less efficient player this year. he'd also be utterly useless as a backup PF, unlike travis. i wouldn't cry if we got him straight up for raef and a pick or something, but he's not worth raef + outlaw.
