I was going to wait till next month when I turn 18 to seek a job, but I'm really strapped for cash. Stores like Gamestop, Best Buy etc need you to be at least 18 years old (I believe), so that's a bit of a problem. Any recommendations?
I worked at best buy for about 4 months. Their application is online. I dont know if they would be hiring right now because they let some of the holiday people go. Most of the entry level positions, unless you are getting an engineering degree in college, is merchandising, which is what I was in. Basically the truck comes every 2 days and you unload it and put the product out on the floor. The only bad thing is that on sundays you have to come in super early probably 6 or 7 am, during holiday season 4 or 5 am. If you live in a semi big city, try valet parking. I did that last summer in Atlanta, made minimum 10 an hour but a lot of nights I was push 16-20 an hour. There were a lot of sexy ladies and high rollers too, like ludacris, tyler perry, young jeezy, and president obama. And you will stay in shape
You need to at least start applying now. They probably won't get to you a few weeks later and by the time you schedule an interview you'll be 18. The pay is decent for a 1st job and you get benefits being part of the union.
I'll definitely check it out. But what kind of work are we talking about? Obviously I'm not going to be driving one of those trucks, lol. Am I able to apply online? One other thing. Do you know anything about working at Gamestop or EBgames?
It's unlikely you'll get a job at EB or Gamestop. You should look at grocery stores and shit like that. Unless EB is hiring for sure, and you come back every day and ask them for an update on your resume, you have a like 1/1000 chance.
Shape isn't that kind of harsh for one's back? I've heard some peers of mine who even lift a bit, complain about having to carry some of their ridiculous loads in their factory or wherever the hell that occurs.
I watch King of Queens and Doug seems just fine. He married a hot chick with that job, so I'm sure it will do Joker wonders.
