Re: Shawn Marion, Marcus Banks traded for Jermaine O'Nea, Jamario Moonl (possible pic

Jose throws shitty lob passes, but maybe he can improve with a great dunker. I really like our team now. Marion-Graham is a great duo. I'm sad to see Moon go, but it's better for Moon and better for Toronto. I can't wait to see us against Cleveland.

Also, does anyone know Bosh's reaction to this? I'd think he'd be kinda happy.

^ He didn't gel well with JO so I suppose he'll be pleased. Bargnani not so much... Mago really enjoyed practicing and learning with O'Neal, plus it sends him back to centre.

Banks isn't a great point guard but his defensive ability allows him to play some shooting guard. Seeing him on the court with Roko shouldn't be rare.

Yea, Bargnani goes back to center, that's not to bad. I can't wait to see Marion - Bargnani - Bosh - Parker - Calderon.

I really like this deal for the raptors, the only negative is the 1st, but it has massive conditions, so, AND we get some cash.

wtf is colangelo doing? we get cap space so we can resign marion, sign hedo or lamar odom? none of those dudes rectify the problems of a team 13 games under . 500. this team has huge structural problems, and a player on the decline like marion will do nothing to ameliorate the raptor problems. plus, we give up a pick which handcuffs the next gm because the way colangelo's going he'll be out of here in a a year or two. and no one seems to be talking about banks occupying approx 4.5 million of the cap for being a cheerleader.

Banks is rather short to be playing SG, he's really filled out though. I don't remember him playing anything but PG in Phoenix. His numbers in Minnesota were impressive (enough to get the Suns to trade 2 younger, cheaper, better PGs), I don't know what system they played but he isn't good in the fast break and to be honest he wasn't even good in half court while in Phoenix. He can't really drive the ball or even get into the defense to free up shooters, he almost always wasted 4-5 seconds waiting for something to develop rather than create the play himself.

Marion is one of my favorite players of all-time, he'll get 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 steals every night and that's without running plays for him. Phoenix self-distructed when he left, his defense isn't shutdown but he deflects a lot of balls and creates a lot of fastbreak opprotunities. Shaq didn't kill Phoenix's fastbreaks, Phoenix's inability to create turnovers killed their fastbreaks. He can defend point guards and power forwards alike, when we used him to defend Parker we were finally able to beat San Antonio (prior to Stern rigging the series). I know he hated being the 3rd player on the team, he requested a trade, his contract was large, blah blah blah... he was worth every penny in Phoenix, Steve Kerr is a tampon, Toronto got a great player to go along with Bosh -- JO and Bosh practically play the same position, Marion can go inside and out (his shot from the corner is automatic) even with the 1st round pick I think the Raptors made a great move; even if they don't keep Marion it lowers the payroll (not to say they'll use it to sign anybody).

duuuddeeeee your really extreme with this man
    1) 2 years ago with 9 random players raps got 47 wins all because of BC
    2) Last year's struggle was based on Coaching and coachs inability to develop Andrea
    3) Marion is NOT declining sure his not scoring but he was part of the Heat's system!!! He still managed 9+ rebs per game and thats a real boost to the wing position.
    4) Yes raps probebly going to miss the playoffs this year but if they can get Marion to stay for cheap it wont effect us much
    5) we know bosh is not gonna stay and i dont mind him leaving at all, his not a leader not clutch and Guess what raps been winning w/o him!!! Raps beat SA w/o bosh you know what that means?
    6) Lastly Mario will most likely play the 2 and back up Parker.

Also raps Restricted FA end of this year are:
Carlos Delfino, Joey G, Will solomon
    Unrestricted are:
    Parker

Welcome back man! Good to have you here!

I love this trade and I can't wait for Marion to play.

I'd love to package Kapono/Jose for Nash, as well.

Thats a little much for Nash. He is old. Granted If we don't give up a PG, we'll have 4 and shit on a leaf himself Will Solomon

Sooo botched that deal. In total, that experiment cost us 2 first-rounders, Rasho's expiring contract, and a very tradeable asset in TJ Ford. We went from being a first-round playoff team with a lot of assets to a lottery team with barely any. I know the Marbury-JKidd deal is by far the worst in Colangelo's career, but this has to rank up there as a close second.

its funny how he built his great suns team through the draft but here in toronto he's become toronto's worst drafting gm.

For you guys saying Marion will be a 20ppg player for us: keep in mind his statistical highs came playing with Nash, who is one of the best playmakers in NBA history. Calderon isn't anywhere close to that. Marion doesn't create his own shot and Calderon isn't a fast break PG. People are going to be down on Marion's offensive game within weeks.
