    I third this idea.

    I've already put Mixum on my ignore list and it really hasn't helped tone-down the spam that is produced by all his threads. It's not so much his takes, but rather how often he re-produces the same argument/tone of voice in every thread. It's excessive and needs to be controlled a bit more because it's hard to read through threads that are spammed with yelling and takes on "WENEEDATRADENOWOMFGTW!" It makes reading through this forum a lot more difficult. I have a hard time believing Mixum hasn't noticed the frustration by many of the posters on this board, yet he continues to do his thing just to fire everyone up. It makes me think he is knowingly lashing out just to frustrate other Blazer fans on this board. If he really was trying to have a thoughtful discussion about Blazer basketball he would've adjusted his take by now or at least considered changing his strategy for presenting his own thoughts.

    That's my stance.

    I'm surprised that half of the posts on this thread haven't been modified or deleted because you are talking about MIXIM and not the topic. OH WAIT, that only happens to me because the Mods single me out because I don't stand for MIXIM's bullshit and I call him out.

    Yeah, I seriously considered quitting this board yesterday.

    I've been looking at other options recently. I haven't found another really solid alternative, though. Clubblazers looks ok but it's not as active as this one, clearly.

    First of all, talking about a policy and/or unacceptable behavior is entirely reasonable. The unacceptable behavior here is NOT when people argue with/against or even attack MIXUM's (or anyone's) position or ideas... that's what the board is FOR. It's when they attack him as a person and as a poster. It's when they "don't stand for MIXUM's bullshit and call him out."

    Secondly, consider this logically.

    Is a poster a troll?

    If no, and he's not violating the terms of service of the board, then the conversation stops.

    If yes, then what can he accomplish? He can have fun just posting in and of itself, or he can have fun when people attack him... when they "call him out".

    If you think he's a troll, stop responding and let those of us who enjoy talking basketball talk about it.

    Would a cracked (rather than chipped) patella affect his ability to move and jump in a basketball game? I have no idea, so I'm hoping someone (like Niko, perhaps) could tell me.

    Because Oden returned to the game after the bone-on-bone collision and recorded a few rebounds and a couple of slam dunks. Would that be likely with a cracked patella?

    The fact that through these years you take Mixum seriously and treat him not as the gimmick poster that he is, by getting the reactions he wants by posting his "hit, run and watch" style posting is pretty hilarious to me. Has the guy ever defended his nutty posts? He hides from anything he posts when he's wrong. Has he ever replied to any of the posts that basically expose him for the fraud that he is by calling him names? No. This board and the board that we used to post on has given him a shitload of ammunition to be pissed at us. He isn't pissed, he could careless as long as he's stirring the pot and trying to get the fans on this board as riled up as possible.

    Yes, he posts in his own threads. Yes, he defends his positions sometimes. Does he do it effectively? That's subjective, of course, but most people on this board are challenged to defend their positions, so he would not be alone if he had troubles.

    Watching and following the Blazers for years and years and posting consistently negatively just to get a reaction from people? Why?

    And why do people who have had years to get used to him let themselves get upset?

    It would be MUCH easier for him to rile people up by coming to his own defense than to simply ignore the personal attacks that have been made at him.

    Could he be an alter ego of another poster? Sure. If he is, then people can ignore him and he'll dry up and blow away. "Turning the other cheek" is an allegedly admirable quality, and you take it as evidence that he's not a real person or a real fan? Sorry. I can't do that.

    OK! So you want to call me out now. I thought we were boys. I'm just have a realistic view of the team, as well as realistic expectations. At the beginning of the season, I said around 50 wins. When we win, you never see me get all,"We are winning the championship" or if we lose you never here,"Fire so-n-so" I stay pretty even. I thought we'd start 12-12 and slowly gain momentum. We are playing better then I thought we would. My criticism will surely grow when my expectations do.

    Sure he posts in his own thread. But it is never in response to any kind of point that he was trying to make that got shot down. Its usually just a one-liner reiterating in simpler terms that our teams sucks, we aren't going to make the playoffs, the team is the worst ever with out a trade yada yada. . .

    Its a fun little thing for him to do in his mind. There's been many gimmick posters over the years. Mpls2000, Lakerlanny and Mixum is just another.

    Babysitting him on these forums and mopping up every post for which he gets called on his bullshit is really a pointless project. He loves being called an idiot. If he gets called names, he's succeeded in pissing off the board. He has never responded or been personally offended to anyone calling him names or personally insulting him since I've been posting in these forums. So following him around and sticking up for him is a waste of time.

    I'm glad that you have decided to protect the use of my time, but the point is not to clean up posts that attack him, necessarily. It's to reject the culture of personal attacks by pointing out that they are not allowed and that the wiser course of action for everyone is simply to not respond if you don't have anything to say about the topic he's posting on.

    I just don't think I've ever heard you criticize the team, at least not that I can recall. I realize you work for them, and it probably wouldn't look good if you were on this board saying bad things about Nate, or KP, or a player... but sometimes I think you're just an extension of the team on this board. Sorry man. Nothing against you personally, but that IS your employer. :dunno:
