I'm thinking that trade would put the Spurs ahead of Lakers in West. That would be a very dangerous team.

Interesting... and then Bowen would re-sign.... or would he? I wonder if we could throw some money at Bowen.

Adding Carter to their big 3 is scary.

Why wouldn't we beat that offer from the Spurs? I'd be tempted to do it, simply because I wouldn't want San Antonio to get him.

What a stupid trade for the Spurs. They must be really, really desperate or something.

Doesn't seem like they give up much to get him though, but yes, their window is closing and they need to make a move. How many more good years does Duncan have? Can Parker and Ginobili prop up the team after he leaves?

Well this certainly would back the theory that NJ wants to dump Carter's contract as some of us suggested. (And not expect much back) I think some of the proposals that we came up with beats this.

Im not sure if they'd want to trade Mason AND Bowen. Well, Bowen is probably just about done, but Mason is pretty good.

But in a way, I'd like that trade to happen. Just because it'd be interesting to see how a good coach can handle Vince Carter instead of the jokes he's had in his career.

Carter will FUBAR that team. They're much better off trying to swing a trade for Salmons. It won't cost them either of the great defenders they'd be giving up for Carter (Hill/Bowen).

I think the real mistake would be trading George Hill. He can flat out defend, I think he'll see multiple trips to the all defensive teams.

They would "immediately waive Oberto and Bowen." They would really have to waive one of their players. And what do you expect Kiki to say? Pritchard said the exact same thing when the Zach Randolph rumors surfaced.

Nets have 15 players on their roster now. They can only trade 1 for 1 or more they can't trade 1 for 2 unless they cut players which they're not doing

The Nets are going to have to cut people for the trade to work. The only people on one year deals are Ager and Swift (which they'd have to eat a chunk of money to cut him). I don't know if I see it happening.

Carter is still a very solid player and he hasn't been injured much at all this season. Spurs are a team built to win now, and Carter is a player that fits their timeline perfectly. Lol at John Salmons being a better pickup then Carter.

Ridiculous. Instead of just looking at names, how about taking into account things like style of play, attitude, and strengths/weaknesses? Geez.

Salmons will have MUCH more of an impact in San Antonio than Carter. He's a MUCH better defender, fits perfectly into the team's concept, and OH YEAH he's still averaging 18 a game this season while shooting over 40% from three.

    Learn basketball please kthxbai.

if the spurs get carter, the spurs go undefeated in the post season. however, i highly doubt the nets are going to give the spurs a championship caliber team like memphis did last season.

Take *edited: No personal attacks* back to the now-vacated New Jersey Nets forum, where someone might actually want to read it. Thank you.
