First and foremost, I want to say I'm more concerned about winning the game than anything else. That being said, if we do dominate them as we should, do we run up the score to embarrass them?

Nah. Just a good fifteen point spanking. Embarrassing division rivals when you have to play them 4 times a year (minimum) seems counterproductive.

Yeah, I'm torn. Part of me wants to just pour it on, to say "this is what you get for effing with us" and the other part of me thinks we should just beat them easily and give our key players the fourth quarter off.

I'm in favor of spanking them if possible. If for nothing more than the fact that we haven't had a really good ass-whooping like we gave the Kings & Bulls some time back. But if any team deserves it, it's these bitches.

UH... You all think "we're" actually good enough to decide how many points we want to beat NBA teams by?

    Not really.

    Expected response (It's Memphis)

    My response (OKC)

Seriously though. It took this team 4 quarters to beat the clips without Davis, Randolph and Chris Kaman. I dont think we get to call our own shots yet.

We've admitted that both times we took those teams for granted. I think if we take this game seriously, we can jump on them and they'll quit. That is a team without pride.

And we still ended up beating them by 25.

Don't forget the Heat - we blew them out by 42.

I don't really care how much we beat Memphis by, as long as we win... but a good old fashioned whipping would be fun.

We also lost to the clips at home.

    That wasn't the point.

The point was that we don't get to decide how much we beat NBA teams by at this point. Especially the way we've been playing for the last 2+ weeks.

Please don't remind me. I was at both games. It still amazes me that a team that beat the Heat by 42 and the Hornets (at full strength) by 15 can turn around and lose to the Clipps at home. You just never know.

I don't think the players give a fuck about "revenge." We'll probably see some pre-game hugs, etc., a close game until the 4th quarter where the Blazers' superior talent level finally wins the game, i.e. a game like against the Clippers, or recently the Sonics/Thunder.

I'll take a win, and I don't care if we squeek out a close one either. We can't afford to lose many games like this in the 2nd half. The good teams in the West are going to take it up a notch, and we just can't afford to lose more games against bad teams (especially at home)

Memphis has some good athletes on the perimeter in Gay and Mayo that can shoot, and those type of guys light us up more often than not. I wouldn't be surprised to see a close game.

We really don't blow many teams out.

There is little reason if we show up focused and energetic that we shouldn't be able to blow this team out of the building. We're longer, stronger and more talented than the Grizz, we're playing at home and we didn't play last night.

Really???? Thanks for stating the obvious.

My comment was on the extreme swings between the blowout wins and the losses to teams they should beat.

I don't feel like checking the game logs for every team, but I'd bet there are a lot of teams that don't have a single 40+ point win this season, let alone two, including one over a play-off team.

Last season, the Blazers were a 41-win team. Their largest margin of victory was 25 pints (over the 76ers - the 13th of their 13-game winning streak). They only had 5 other wins by more than 12 points. So, last season it was less of an extreme swing when they lost an ocasional game to a sub .500 team. This year, with recent 42-point wins over the Heat and Bulls and a 21-point win over the Kings, it was a bit more surprising when they lost to the lowly Clippers at home - especially when they had played so well at home prior to that loss (their only previous loss being by 1-point to the Mavs).
