They may very well do what he said though... happens a lot with change in coaching like they... it really doesn't have anything to do with the coach... but the players made the decision to step it up. They can blame the coach for that first half performance... it is like a get out of jail free card.
TP has enough money. You generally don't get a third chance at a head coaching gig, however. This now makes two franchises he was hosed by. He did great with MIL and was dumped. For PHX, he simply took the fall for Kerr. He never got the support from the front office when the players rebelled. It's back to the bench as an assistant for TP. Perhaps in half a decade he'll get another shot.
That's exactly of whom I was thinking, hence my comment about heading back as an assistant for half a decade.
