    Hello darkness, my old friend
    ??

I said they could package that draft pick with a player in a trade. Meaning the rookie would be headed elsewhere. ;)

Anyway, I think the "no more rookies" thing is odd. Waiting for more rookies isn't necessary, but the team should absolutely have a constant influx of young talent through the draft. The Spurs won their first title with Duncan, Robinson and Elliott...had they not also been drafting Ginobili and Parker, they wouldn't have been good for so long.

The team should be prepared to contend with the players they have, but they should have more players coming up the pipeline at all times.

Yes, but the Spurs didn't have their entire roster filled head to toe with <25 yr old players. :NOTMARIS:

Neither will Portland in a few years. No bad thing to have a group of players hit their primes together.

Then we can start adding more rookies in a few years. Right now there's too many young players that deserve playing time. If we're going to make a trade, we should consolidate them into a proven SF/PG.

Well, I don't entirely agree with that (Batum would have been fine to sit on the bench this year...he's playing due to lack of other SF options) as I think we can have more rookies and let them be reserves....but I should point out (once again!) that my original comment was that a draft pick acquired with the TE could be packaged with a player and traded away. Not used to add another rookie to the team.

I don't like this approach - if you can nab someone through the draft that can help you immediately - you do it - Derrick Rose was a rookie and was better than any PG on the market, Greg Oden a rookie is better than any Center on the market. There are tons of talented kids in the draft - and if we can get a good one next year - why not? Especially when this team is growing - there will be less of a need to coach Brandon and Rudy and Aldridge next year - given their added experience - so why not?

Talent is talent - you might not be able to utilize it immediately, but so what?

No doubt about it, Pritchard tanked this season

If we make the playoffs, it will be by default or luck. You choose. It is 100% unacceptable not to make a deal with these latest circumstances. With Webster and Oden being out, how in gods name did he not make a move? Obviously he wants a lotto pick. Before you kill me on this .... hear me out.

    1. A day after the deadline, Martell is OUT FOR THE FUCKING SEASON? He didnt know this Monday? Thats just unacceptable. And you don't upgrade at SF? Even with salmons?????

    2. Oden prob needs surgery. Its the worst kept secret in Blazer land. You know it and i know it. Why it hasn't happened i dont know unless they really want to miss the playoffs.

So i ask again, youth or no youth... cake baking crap, etc... HOW CAN YOU JUST LET A TEAM WHO IS 33-20 BE THROWN UNDER THE BUS AND NOT GIVE THEM ANY HELP???? IM SOORY KP LOVERS....BUT NOBODY CAN TELL ME HE DIDNT KNOW THIS STUFF ON WED NIGHT. IT IS UNREAL. As soon as oden goes under the knife, we are officially done. Another lotto pick which is what "good ole" KP lives for. A FUCKING DISGRACE.

It's his San Antonio background. That's where he learned. Look at them - their GM allowed a team that is 36-17 be thrown under the bus and did not give them any help. That's even worse!

Re: No doubt about it, Pritchard tanked this season

I had always heard rumors about you, hastily whispered in hushed tones, never audible beyond the dark corners where identities were easily concealed. An ominous name, "MIXUM," was like a curse to all the weary peasants of Blazermania who dared utter it. It was a thing of power and fear, invoked as a response, nay, a sigil of protection against unwarranted pessimism and negativity. The great feverish era of the franchise was continuing to bear down, and there was little joy to be found with even the most optimistic of fans.

Then the Golden Men came from out of the Draft Rivers, summoned forth by the unknown wizard Kevin, who worked his magic through a mysterious force that was dubbed "Pritchslapping" by the townfolk. Verily, these new avatars were raw and unwieldy, but they garnered our affection and lit the dark corners where fear and rue once tread. A new age had dawned, one that was fast approaching, but nay, not here yet.

And then you, MIXUM, O befouler of hope and dreams, returned once more to the circle of the Blazer fan. Some said you were a disguised rogue, a spy from the Southern Lands where the defiler-demon known as Kobe reigns supreme. But I see that is not what you are. What you are is a mystery, a question mark in the clouds, as you are always so quick to shout at passers by. Having never looked upon your cruel and twisted visage previously, I could not see the why you were once banished.

But now, in this time of glorious hope, you wish to bring us full circle back into the darkness, the fear, the hate and conspire, the land of the Ruined Trader King Bob and his incompetent understudies Nash and Patterson. To this I say NO, we will not go back into the night! While I do not unsheathe my ignore button, I do rebuke you for your unthinking and pestilent speeches, your whispers in the ears of innocent babes, your roots and whoops and hollers to the demise of the Golden Men and the Great Wizard Kevin.

I now see why you were once banished, but my heart is not full of your hate. I hope that you may once know love again from these new heroes we have been bestowed with, and that you and your ilk may live in peace again in the realm of Blazermania.
