Do you really think Brandon had a bad game by chance? The Spurs forced him to take shots in places that made him uncomfortable.

So take it to the rim. The truly great players like Kobe, LeBron, CP3 will force their will on the game. Roy can do it at home, not on the road though.

And it sure doesn't look like we're going to end up with home court advantage in the play offs. :crystalball:

We get within 5 with 2:41 left, Nate pulls Sergio for uh...just because I guess :dunno:, and we get outscored 2-12 the rest of the way.

Sergio had 7 assists in 19 minutes.

The rest of the team had 5.

Roy has led his team to a better record than CP3 has led his team to. And CP3 has an All Star teammater.

I think the 1st Clippers game this year, takes the game for worst/most disappointing game of the season

I'm talking about THIS team. They can't beat THIS team in our building. We are merely 1-1 against the Spurs. They don't own us as much as people would like to think in here.

Let me just take this time to acknowledge one of the funniest posts I've ever read. I think it deserves an admiring "silent moment" from the rest of the board.

We're a different team now, while they have the same players they had when Jesus was in 3rd grade.

They're in their sunset years, and we just got out of high school.

Stick a fork in them 'cause we'll get several Titles before they get another one.

    Bake it!

You know, Popovich is a whiny jerk when it comes to working the refs, but the guy sure knows how to get people to play defense. Unlike our guys, who switch when it makes no sense whatsoever and constantly lose guys around the perimeter, the Spurs always seem to be with their man or able to close on him quick enough to disrupt his shot. I'm not sure why it is that at this point in the season the Blazers still seem to be so lost on defense so often.

An average of 7-8 years less experience maybe.

Credit goes to the Spurs, of course, but Roy's performances against good WC teams on the road have been poor as of late. It's a disturbing pattern.

Experience has nothing to do with fight, and determination to get through that pick....

While I hope you're right (and appreciate the new thread and overall optimism you carry), I don't know if I'd be as confident about them winning on Sunday. Duncan will be back, and we don't know if Oden will be. I hope he is.

Of course, this team (as many young teams do), plays a different game at home. But they don't have a whole lot to hang their hat on with this game. They played really bad defense, and fell into doing exactly what the Spurs wanted them to. They got pushed around and didn't return the favor. Steve should've kicked Oberto in the gnards, and then spat in his face (I'm only half joking).

In a way, we're like the Bulls teams of the late 80's. Obviously no where near as good (record wise, or top talent wise). They just couldn't beat the Pistons to save their lives. They played directly into the Pistons hands, and got bullied, intimidated and emasculated out of their games. The positive we have going for us is that we are incredibly young and the Spurs aren't. Before too long, assuming the trio here improves on the scale we all hope they do, we'll be the team beating most of the rest of the league on a semi-regular basis. The negative is that we're going to be made to look incredibly mediocre when we play certain teams.

We're still going to take our lumps, and as much as we all want to be competing for a title this year, or HCA this year, or a playoff series win this year, realistically this is not our year to do that. The order usually does not go "21 wins, 32 wins 41 win, HCA" when your team has little to no playoff experience on it's roster. They have to earn their stripes first. This year, as much as a certain vocal faction of this fanbase doesn't want to admit, is still a learning year.

It sucks to lose, and I hate it as much as anyone (well, probably not as much), but perspective and being able to see that our time will come regardless of this years finish, helps me get through the losses like tonight.

All things considered, I think we're about where we need to be.

Blazers don't appear to be in the same league as SA. SA missing 2 of their top 3 guys, and they still easily handle the Blazers.

    Got to win on Friday.

I can't believe Bayless didn't get any burn tonight.

So, you've come to the conclusion that we should stop "baking it" and get some experience this offseason? Or are you content to wait 7-8 years until these guys figure out how to play D?
