Right here? So game 6, first round equals successful season?

A loss in Game 5 would be a total failure, I agree. Game 6 means so much more.

    Hey Mixum!

Have you ever lived in the Portland area? If so, where?

If not, why are you a Blazer fan?

    Inquiring minds want to know!

See, I think that most people enjoy MIXUM actually. I think he is a conversation starter and people are somewhat annoyed, but moreso intrigued with him.

I think if ya'll were hell-bent on not letting him "ruin" your time here, his threads would have 0 (or near 0) responses.

    Anyway...

I thought it was just making the playoffs? You can't just keep upping your expectations, MIXUM! :) Remember, making the playoffs = no more negative posts for you until next year, correct?

    Right on, Maris!

IDK why, but I actually trust you as a man of your word. And I would prefer you still be on the forum if we make the playoffs but (not to be a jerk) I know it will be hard for you to post on here w/o these types of posts.

Anyway, while you annoy me, and sometimes start your "sky is falling" posts at a sensitive time, which is why you get such a negative reaction (from me at least), I actually enjoy you here to stir up discussion. Its very entertaining, but its also kinda sad because i'm close to sure you are a gimmick poster.

I think part of what is going on is that there are a few different camps on the board. There is the "bake it" camp that thinks what we have is great. Then there is the "This team is not doing the right things it needs to win." camp where people are very disgusted with how the team is playing. For those of us who are in the second camp, often it is very hard to stay silent when you see the team, and coaching staff, make the same mistakes over and over and over again. The message board give us a chance to vent.

I have been watching pro basketball since the mid 70's. I have seen good teams come and go. I can tell you right now, that the Blazers are not doing the things a good team does. It stretches all across the organization, from players to coaching staff, and now, even to upper management. Much like the team with Clyde Drexler in the 80's, this team is lacking toughness. That team had to go outside and make a deal to get that toughness, by getting Buck Williams. The Rasheed Wallace/Sabonis team had to go get Brian Grant, and later Pippen and Smith.(ALL tough SOB's in my book) Oden may provide that, but only if given a true chance to show what he can do, instead of being stifled by the coaching staff. He can't impact the game if he isn't on the floor. He can't score on offense if players don't throw him the ball. If you set him up for fail, he is going to fail.

Right now the team is setting itself up for failure. They play an outside-in game, and teams that are built outside-in, lose in the playoffs sooner rather than later.
