For me, the race has become much more simplified.

I watch what Phoenix is doing.

I watch what Portland is doing.

    That's it.

We finish ahead of Phoenix, and I'm ecstatic. No more Denver, no more Houston, no more New Orleans, etc...etc...

Hopefully this will not become a "Who blows less Ass" contest.

Well, to be fair, if you can finish even 8th in the West you certainly do not "blow ass."

I have watched both Phoenix and Portland play a lot lately, and I can say I completely disagree with you. They both have been blowing ass, only winning against bad teams.

We aren't going to win the title this year. Believe me, I get it.

But if I have to watch the Blazers get eliminated from the playoffs by the Lakers again, I am not going to have a good summer.

For what it's worth, I think we finish better than the 8th seed. Utah still has a ton of road games ... and as bad as we are on the road, Utah is even worse.

7 will get you eliminated by the spurs. What's the difference?

And I really can't see you getting 6.

As a Lakers fan Id much rather face HOU, PHX, DAL, or NO before Id want to face POR. Some teams just match up well for some reason. Id still have total faith in my Lakers beating POR but Im all too aware of the problems the Lakers have in POR

We'll see. March's schedule is pretty favorable. Ten home games (although there's a five-game-in-seven-night roadie sandwiched in the middle).

The goal should be 6th seed or higher. 7th or 8th is almost guaranteed 1 and done. 3 vs. 6 and 4 vs. 5 will be very close with either team a decent chance of advancing.

Phoenix AND Portland can both make the playoffs. Worry about the other teams too.

And given the emotional makeup of the Thuggets, all they need are a couple of tough losses and they'll start to implode.

I watch Utah. It's going to come down to us and Utah for the NW Division title and the #3 seed that accompanies it.

Right now the 9th seed in the west would have HCA in the East.

I'm not sure it'll be a "Blowing Ass" contest.
