Just like last year with Chris Paul. Kobe will pull away down the stretch.

Cavs have just one victory against a division leader/good team on the road, Denver.

Denver is an overrated good team.

The Cavs have no meaningful wins on the road and even if they win in SA tonight, it won't really matter. Duncan is probably out and Manu is out. Therefore, beating a Tony Parker lead Spurs' team doesn't really impress much.

The Cavs are not a very impressive team. They can't win on the road at all, and I still think they're HIGHLY overrated by a lot of people. Talk to me when they beat a good team away from Cleveland.

Cavs are coming to Boston next Friday, and most likely, Garnett will still be out.

LOL... a win in denver would have justified this promotion to the #1 spot... but i think they re-flip it come next week coz the cavs just blew out the spurs (duncan and ginobli less though)

I think you guys care too much about this award. Jordan was robbed of a couple with the best record in the league and everything.

Jordan had 5... thats more than enough...

Kobe's 1 and ONLY MVP award doesnt mesh well with his level of 'greatness' hahaha

1 MVP is insufficient for a player like Kobe. 2 would do (especially back to back)

Sacrificing stats for wins, accumulating all these wins over good teams especially on the road and in the clutch. MVP is also a team award or Steve Nash wouldn't sniff 2.

LeBron has Mo Williams, Delonte West, and Big Z.

Kobe has Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, Fisher, Farmar, had Bynum, Ariza.

Kobe doesn't sacrifice stats for wins, he just doesn't need to get those numbers because of the great supporting cast he has. The way LeBron has lifted Cleveland despite having a team not as good as the Lakers is reason enough for him to be the hands down MVP.

MVP is a team award, but I think the Cavs will miss LeBron more than the Lakers would miss Kobe and this is what it would come down to. LeBron is the Most Valuable Player in the NBA this year. No doubt.

I think this could be a year we see Co-MVPs.

Doesn't change the fact that he was robbed.

LeBron has been way better this year... I don't think Co-MVPs should be discussed.

Maybe last year when the race was tighter with CP3 and Kobe running neck and neck.

Kobe has been great, don't get me wrong.. but last year the Lakers were resurrected from having a mediocre year in the 06-07 season to being top seeds in the 07-08 season so that gave Kobe a boost in the MVP race.

This year we see LeBron's Cavs going from a mediocre year last year to a great season this year. So... more impact to LeBron's candidacy..

Sorry Lakers fans.. LeBron is this year's MVP!

I don't have a problem with LeBron winning the regular season MVP. I'd rather see Kobe win Finals MVP.

They should give an award for best comeback by a superstar

    hahahaha!

    Candidates this year:

    Dwayne Wade
    Andrew Bynum (while it lasted)
Shaq (he was gone for a while despite playing wasn't he?)

I think LeBron is leading right now, Kobe's right there to me though.

I'd rather give it to Chris Paul or Howard if it came to those not named Bron/Kobe.
