And that's how it would be if it weren't for Rudy getting injured. He is a fan fave (along with half the team) and people rightly get upset.

As for the actual play, the first part of the foul was just a hard foul, but the wrist part was what put it over the top for me. If you look at rudy's trajectory before and after the wrist grab (intentional or not) it was a huge change, like full body whiplash. I will never know for sure what Ariza's intentions were, but from what I saw I believe that it was a very dirty play. Ariza just landed on the top of my NBA shit list.

I don't know if it was a wrist grab, but it was using his arm to swing Rudy to the ground

Na Batum is waay smarter than old pat. Kobe tried to get into Nic's head tonight by pulling him around and shit but nope, Nic was too cool for that.

On another note man it was good to see vujacic get treated like the little girl that he is.

well look at it again then...if you pay attention to just that part of the play you clearly see it was wrist to wrist and no grab of any kind. It was a follow through to a swipe at the ball. EVERYBODY follows through when attempting a block. (yes there are tap blocks but thats irrelevant for this play)

Exactly stupid angle to Swipe at the ball. Especially when down thirty. No need for that.

back to the "dont try because i will probably fail" theme again huh? There would never be an amazing play in spots if athletes thought like that

Sorry Rizzle, but I don't see how you could argue this one. Whether his intent was to harm Rudy or not, Ariza violently swing at Rudy from behind, and he caused him harm. The difference between the Ariza foul and the Tay Prince block, is that Prince was in control and Reggie Miller was barely off the ground. Rudy was going up to pack it and Ariza came at him from behind and brought his arm down on him like an anvil.

Mike Rice mentioning that calling Vujashit "Sasha" would make him seem even more girly made my day.

Jesus...so dramatic.."his arm down like an anvil"...really...His arm swing was perpendicular to Rudy's body...not down on it.

I really think you guys are bringing too much emotion into this argument. Im truly sorry for Rudy but Ariza was making a play on the ball and even made contact with it

Just like Al Horford was going for the ball when he flagrantly fouled TJ Ford and sent him to the hospital last season. Like Horford, Ariza should receive a one game suspension. Intent is irrelevant (isn't even mentioned in the rule), but when a players has left his feet and you hit him from behind it's a reckless play that puts the other player at risk for injury. Again, intent isn't considered, just the action and Ariza's action, like Horford's, warrants a minimum one game suspension.
