So typical that the snooty "experts" say that it's not there. Scholars and scientists tend to scoff when an outsider makes a discovery in their field, but in the history of science, a great many discovers have been made by dabblers outside the mainstream establishment.

Even if he did intentionally draw some feet that look like a face if you squint, what difference could that possibly make? barfo
i don't know why they would immediately assume it was a self portrait. i can see what they are talking about and it seems to me that it was probably intentional(seems odd to have that happen by accident), but i don't understand why it would really be significant.
