Sure, there is always the chance. I'm sure the Lakers would rather play Dalls/Suns for the first round. After that though, the Blazers are not anymore scary(probably less so) then Utah, NOH or Houston.
Who cares about the Laker nation attitude? it's the Laker's team that plays during the playoffs, and they have shown that they take the blazers pretty seriously(at least at home). And showing respect and agreeing that LA should be scared shitless of the blazers is not the same thing.
I'm not so sure about Utah, NOH or Houston. Houston never wins a playoff series and Utah isn't much better. Maybe NOH but I think the way you guys play at the Rose Garden would make them rather play any of them except maybe SA.
The playoffs are a different animal. All those teams have at least some experience in them(yes, even Houston). Lets first see if your team can stand the heat before we start talking about upsets, allright? The blazers already a very bad road record(in fact, might be the worst among west playoff teams), it only gets harder in the playoffs.
Question.. how do you know how this team takes the Blazers in the playoffs? Last time we played eachother in the playoffs.. Horry, Shaq, Harper? were there. and the respect comment was more about you.
I agree and I don't think we will win a series in our first year in the playoffs but I'm hoping. I was just saying the Lakers really wouldn't want to play us if they could choose who to play in the first or even second round.
Every team knows there's no such thing as "easy" in the playoffs. That being said, Phil's record in the playoffs when his team has home cort advantage is something like 33-0. I'm pretty sure it should be you wanting to avoid the Lakers in the 1/2nd rounds(at least making the WCF is an accomplishment).
I sort of agree but ideally it would be best to meet in the 2nd round because we would have a better chance of meeting. I want the Blazers to get playoff experience and even winning a series but I would also love to play the Lakers and give it a chance to beat them. So, I would want use ideally to get 4th seed beat whoever and meet the Lakers in the 2nd round. If we bet them I'm one happy Blazer fans and there couldn't be anything better except winning it all.
You should be a happy blazer fan just for making the playoffs after missing them for several years. If you're expecting anything other than losing in the first round, well, you are just setting yourself up to be dissapointed.
Because this team has won at Staples. Your team has yet to break through at the RG. But mostly, you're down two important cogs and are playing a tough team on the road.
If you look at history, it's more likely the L*kers lose to the Blazers at home. We're not a great team, but we match up well against yours. THAT's what should worry you.
Boston didn't have any playoff experience as a team. In fact, neither Pierce or Allen or KG had even been in the playoffs the year before. And they won the title. Anything's possible.
All of them are veterans with playoffs experience, not to mention Hall of Fame players. A bit different from your team of rookies, no?
The irony here is that the L*kers really are a good team with a legit shot to go all the way. So why do their fans feel the need to sh!t on everybody else? Is that insecurity I see raising its' ugly head?
Well, the way some of you blazers are posting, you would think you just three peated, have the best record in the NBA, and the Lakers are just another western playoff team that you would easily beat.
What's the reasoning behind the "*" in "L*kers"? Somehow implying that the NBA/stern fix the games or something ridiculous like that?
It's just a childish cheap shot, like you might see some people call the spurs "sperms", the lakers "fakers", etc.
