    I'm more of a Kidd fan.

    Dallas has had a fair share of games where they completely disappear in the 4th. And not necessarily because they are fatigued. If Dallas can't buy a bucket in the 4th, the Blazers will have their opportunity.

    It all starts with Dirk. Shut him down, and the rest of the team will most likely crumble.

    Judging from how the Mavs came out tonight, I don't think fatigue is going to be an issue. But I could be wrong.

    I hope we start off the third with Batum on Dirk, taking it to the hoop and only settling for jumpers when the Mavs defense collapses on said taking it to the hoop moments. I think we can get back in it that way and hopefully the Mavs start to loes their legs at the beginning of the fourth as that is usually our best quarter.

    I'm fine with us taking them. We just have to make them. Oden, unfortunately, doesn't get the ball enough when we play him. When he comes back, we have to feed him like we did against Chicago and Milwaukee.

    I don't know if Portland can shut Dirk down. We may have to put Batum on him and shadow him with LMA or Brandon.

    We don't have the rhythm, and when you are playing without rhythm, you have to get easy baskets, not jumpers, regardless of how good they are.

    Us taking jumpers is fine when they have to sag off our jump shooters which is what they do when Oden is in the game just because they're scared. For all that Joel can do, and I love Joel a lot, he will never get that kind of attention on the offensive end. He's left open a lot especially of late because of his wrist they know he has trouble even with some putbacks.

    Hopefully he gets closer to 10 shots a game once he gets back just to get him into a groove going into the playoffs. That will pay dividends - especially if we face New Orleans.
