So if Batum misses time and Rudy can't play.... iy-yi-yi-yi. Outlaw starts at SF and plays all game? Maybe Roy plays some SF? Oy. We missed Rudy today and we'll miss him again on Friday. And I think we'll REALLY miss Batum. He is our Battier. He is our glue guy. We will feel his loss big time. Martel? Are you ready to play now? What a crazy turn of events it would be if Batum went out for the year and Martel replaced him.

    Roy can play some SF.

Bayless will play more at the 2 guard spot.

    Rotation would be:

    Blake, Sergio
    Roy, Bayless
    Outlaw, Roy

hell...play some Frye up in that beyotch.

Ouch. We really need Batum. He is our glue guy and best perimeter defender. He's been doing a great job defending the other team's best perimeter player.

And Josh, Batum did return with 6 seconds left.

I think Batum will be OK. He came back into the game at the end.

I wish Batum would get more minutes.

If Frye, Sergio and Outlaw get big minutes, we will not win.

You have to learn to roll with the punches. Injuries are a part of sports. Other teams have had it a lot worse than us this year.

Worse than missing our starting SF all year, and starting C for much of the year. There may a couple teams hit harder, but we've got to be up there.

That said, I agree with your sentiment that the team just has to play through the injuries.

Not all "starters" are equal. Though Greg and (maybe) Martell would have been technically starters, it's probably more accurate to call them rotation level players. Many here claim Joel > Greg at this point of their careers and both of Martell's "backups" are at least arguably better to the point I don't think his absence has been felt much at all.

The PTB haven't completely avoided the injury bug, but it's not like they lost one of their featured players as has been the case with many teams around the league. Having just taken a quick glance at the other Western teams contending for playoff spots, arguably only Dallas and maybe the Hornets seem to have fared better.

Call me when either Batum or Outlaw score 25 in one quarter.

    I won't hold my breath.

How unbelievable was Batum's block last night! He misses a shot underneath his own basket and still was able to beat everyone else down court and get the block on a fast break. A play like that should be the "Play of the day" on ESPN over a half court shot any night. In my mind it was truely special.

I'm surprised you're getting in a huff over what I wrote. Do you really think that no reasonably argument can be made for Travis and Batum both being at least equal talents at SF compared to MW? That he's so obviously one of the top 2 of those 3 guys that most here would see this as a fact? We've had umpteen threads and polls and it seems pretty clear to me that opinions vary.

While I've preferences in how I'd rank them, I also think that right now they're relatively close as far as their impact in games. Any combo of two of them would have sufficed for this year or... I'd guess the club would have close to the same record. I'm mostly just happy that Batum had the opportunity to get off the bench and show what he can do. I doubt he'll be giving up his starting spot next season.

    Ouch heres the list.

    1. Rudy Fernandez - Day to Day (Probably available vs Indiana March 18th)
    2. Martel Webster - Day to Day (April)
    3. Greg Oden - Day to Day (Probably available vs Atlanta March 15th)
    4. Nicolas Batum - Day to Day (Probably available on road trip)

These are all my guesses. More playing time for Bayless, Ruffin, Outlaw, and Frye.

Yeah, it's okay, just sign some good SF from the NBDL to a 10-day contract or two and get by.

Tomorrow James White's contract with the Rockets is up, maybe we can go get him.
