I just wanted to throw this out here for discussion... Everyone says that we shouldn't, why? bec: - we've beaten them twice - they suck on the road - shut lebron, shut them down But c'mon... we have to be weary of this team... They beat Boston, they beat Orlando (which we haven't done) AND have the same record as us. That "theyre not good on the road" b*ll is not even true anymore, the lakers are 23 - 9 on the road, the cavs are 24 - 12... does 3 more losses make you suck that bad? LOL Next, WHAT IF they get the best record... we SHOULD not forget that they are 28 - 1 @ home... and the lakers are 29 - 4... so does that mean we suck at home too? LOL (kidding) But seriously... the Cavs have been lingering in the back of my mind for quite some time now... Next, WHAT IF we don't get Andrew back? He, partnering with Kobe, shut LBJ down during the 1st game but in the 2nd it took a MONSTER game from LO to beat them even though Kobe was sick, and even if Kobe was healthy did you ever see him explode against LeBron and the Cavs? NO... So why am i putting this up for debate? Because i honestly think that we can easily get to the finals... we can beat anyone out West... its that last step to the trophy im really wary about...
I think the one worry is Kobe trying to one up Lebron instead of just focusing on the game plan...thats when we lose to them in the past
Do you think he'd do that in the Finals, though? I mean, I know he has tried to do it in regular season games, but it seems like he is honestly past that stage.
Not at this point. Right now its all about keeping homecourt for the entire playoffs. The Lakers just need to worry about themselves.
Let the Cavs beat some great teams first, they struggle against us for a reason. Let them feast on the East.
But Cavaliers have a hard season to end. I brought out some games: vs Orlando vs Portland vs Detroit(could be an underdog) @ Orlando(this is the hardest i think) vs San Antonio vs Boston And Lakers: @ Detroit vs Houston @ Portland(no worries this time ;D) vs Utah What worries me is that Lakers play half-assed defense against not so good teams and it can cost them a game.
^ most of those games for the cavs are @ home... those teams will be the big underdogs. not the cavs but doesn't their 52-13 record mean that they've beaten almost everyone? (except us)... "beat some great teams"? who else do they need to beat? MJ's bulls? sheesh i just hope this complacency doesn't come back to haunt us as karma... remember last year? when no one gave boston any respect against us it could turn out to be the same
The Cavs have yet to get a respectable road win. Unless they do that, I'm not worried about them, especially if we get HCA. Plus, we have had LBJs number this year, because he's had too terrible games against us. If he continues his garbage play against us, there's no way they beat us, regardless of how much better his supporting cast is this year as opposed to previous years.
Hm, let's see... Boston with homecourt or Cleveland on the road. Gimme Cleveland 10 times out of 10 please, they're overrated. I'm more worried about the Spurs than I am of the Cavs (I'm serious). That team does not scare me at all.
I don't know why we wouldn't "respect" our opponent, all we want to do is be focused after last year if anything. They need to beat the elite teams this season, they've consistently lost to them. In the playoffs the Celtics seem much more savvy than them, they need to take care of that first. MJ's bulls would eat them alive, they need smaller goals. ;]
