This isn't about talent, this is about teams that deserve to go. AU is a piss poor road team with a .500 Pac 10 record, an RPI of 62, only 19-13 overall and finished with five losses in its last six games. Let's compare their records and RPI to other teams, shall we. St Mary's - 24-6, 47 RPI, wins Morgan St., Utah St., San Diego St., and won 13 road games this season. San Diego St - 21-8, 32 RPI, wins against Utah, New Mexico, BYU, and three wins against UNLV. Creighton - 26-7, 40 RPI, and wins Northern Iowa, Illinois St, George Mason, and New Mexico. Face it, the only reason AU was let in is because the committee wanted to keep that fucking streak in tact.
Arizona beat San Diego State this year so that was probably the difference there, Patty Mills obviously wasn't healthy in the WCC tourney & shot 5-28 while Zona beat Zags & St. Mary's couldn't do it in 3 shots, & Creighton has beat only 2 tourney teams which are double digit seeds while Zona has beaten 6 teams that are higher seeded than Dayton. All of Zona's losses are also to teams in post season tourneys, so it's not like they were losing to complete chumps.
yeah, Heytvelt owned Hansbrough I recall too. I'm a Pac-10 fan too, and the Pac-10 is always overlooked in terms of talent. Every bubble team has flaws obviously, Arizona has some pretty cherish able wins. How much better do you think some of the middle pack Missouri Valley & West Coast conference teams compared to Oregon State or Stanford? Teams that finished near the bottom of the Pac-10? Zona is getting trashed for having big wins at home or near home, which is still a part of a resume
