Brilliant job by the blazers. I was out of my seat when rudy had the 5 points at the end of the the third. i just saw the game cause i got out of the bar a little later. Well it might have ben my favorite blazer game all year. Not to mention Kevin Harlan did a greta job on the play by play. I also learned that Kenny hates the blazers and might be more negative about them but me. The difference is... i root for them to win but still think we need much improvement to contend. Anyhow... great win. The only downer... TRAVIS OUTLAW. I watched every time a Sun other then nash shot a 3... and guess who lost their player.... yep, OUTLAW. And his offense was even worse. Trade this guy this summer. he will never fit in with these guys. roy and aldridge are smart players... outlaw is just a deer in headlights. i still dont see us winning 6 more but i do think 5 is realistic to get to 50. Which means the Suns need 1 more loss. We arent going 6-4. 5-5 is more like it. Root hard for utah on sat.
Sorry, buddy, Portland is going to make the playoffs. It's going to be tough for you, but you'll survive.
Ha, did you read his last paragraph? That was the most back-handed "I have to give them credit" post I've ever read.
maybe it was me that misunderstood him. didnt he just say that phx loses 1 more and they are out of the race?
He was saying Phoenix HAS to lose 1 more game for Portland to make the playoffs, since Portland can't do better than 5-5 the rest of the way.
They could catch dallas. they play each other a week from sun in phoenix. the thing is and ive said this for a month. The suns get sac twice, minny once and memphis twice. Thats 5 wins. If they beat dallas, houston, and utah... they will have a legit shot. I think utah beats them up on saturday and we win which makes the magic number 4. The bottom line for the blazers is they want nothing below the 6 seed. That should be the goal.
"Root hard for Utah on Saturday" doesn't really suggest that, to me. Of course, I think Phoenix will lose much more than 1 game of the remaining 10, and Portland will likely do better than 5-5, but MIXUM's position struck me as "Hope for Phoenix to lose 1 more game, because Portland needs it to make the playoffs."
i think travis' offensive game was off because of his sprained finger his shot looked ok early when he got a few points but later it started to not fall and the defense.... thats the travis outlaw special its the lose my player until i somehow run into him and get a foul defense kthxbai
I'm pleasantly surprised, MIXUM -- that was the most positive post I've ever seen you write! I actually agree with your assessment of Phoenix, and it's pretty clear that they will not be able to run the table from here on out.
I love the ever-moving target. When we were talking about seeding a month ago, you said the goal should simply be to make the playoffs, but not it should be the 6th seed. If we win 5 straight, you'll say we have to have home court to win a playoff series.
We want to win the championship, but at some point you just have to be happy with the accomplishments of this team. Making the playoffs for the first time in 6 seasons, putting together 5 straight winning months for the first time since 1991-92, and increasing our win total by 10 games 3 straight years, is cause for celebration. Enjoy the positives instead of focusing on the short-comings due to our lack of experience.
Exactly. I didn't realize this until the Oregonian pointed this out with these stats. These are impressive stats with our current roster for this franchise. Our team has done a lot and improved in a lot of areas such as Greg Oden, even though hes making progress on his setbacks. The Blazer staff play Greg smart, give him minutes slowly to improve him again after a physical injury. L.A. is setting a tone for consistent double double this year. Batum is nicely adapting with his first year in the league improving his skills and gaining NBA IQ as a starter. Batum is my favorite rookie now. Rudy is good too but it seems that long road trips takes a toll on his shooting percentage and scoring. Rudy is emotional and shows his intensity when he hits 3's and does dunks. We have to look at this team as a whole, yes we flaws in games when we lose and like to pinpoint players who we should trade because of a certain player position. But seriously this team is making some history for a franchise that hasn't hit the post season since 2002-03
What? So now it's about a higher seed and not just about getting in? C'mon dude, you can't have your cake and eat it too.
