This from the ESPN recap: It was the first time Portland has won three consecutive games by at least 20 points since March 24-28, 1992. We went to the Finals that year!
Tonight's game was the most impressive performance I've seen by the Blazers all year. Roy, Aldridge, Batum, and Oden all played like all-stars, and everybody else made solid contributions. This team is getting more confident every day. 50 wins, here we come!
I was so impressed by tonight's game. It was just one of those times where I thought to myself, "Damn, we're REALLY good!" And this is just the beginning for the next decade!
We are witnessing the beginning of something special here. That 92 Blazer team was in its prime at that time. This current Blazers' core has only scratched the surface of it's potential. Barring any major injuries (knock on wood), this may be the start of the best Blazer core team ever. Roy, Oden, Aldridge, and Batum. The future is now.
Maybe Bayless could be the answer. He hasn't had much playing time this year, so it's hard to predict what he could be for us. I don't think Sergio is the answer. Koponen might not even make it to the NBA. Right now, I guess Blake will have to do, but let's see what Pritchard does in the off-season to address our biggest weakness.
He might be. He's a pretty good passer. He plays well with these guys. He complements Roy very well. And he can nail the three at a high rate if people cheat off of him. I absolutely think we can win titles with Blake starting as PG. After all, Blake actually has championship experience, having led Maryland all the way.
It'll be interesting to see what happens with Blake this offseason. I get the feeling that Nate and KP REALLY like him, and that he and Roy have developed a really good chemistry. Brandon knows Steve will always be in the corner as a safety net for 3. Blake's defense against the elite PGs still leaves a little bit left to be desired, but would he just accept a backup role for 15-20 mins if we bring in a veteran? Don't know...
We can win titles with Blake at the point guard, but that won't necessarily be a reflection of Blake, but more so a reflection of the immense talent on this roster.
Blake IS a veteran. And if he did accept a backup role, he'd immediately be the best backup PG in the league.
