    I get up to buy Billy Joel/Elton John tickets at the Rose Garden for my girlfriend and her family (they're paying and I get to go). The tickets are insanely expensive ($177 for floor, 100 lvl, and 200 lvl).

    I get up, tickets go on sale at 10 am exactly. I hit "best available" right at 10 on the dot, I get floor seats about 20 rows back. Of course, this is a website I've never been to before. It's not ticketmaster. It's some other company that the Rose Garden uses. They require me to register online (in hindsight, I should have done this earlier). I call my girlfriend and register her because the credit card is in her name. By the time I hit submit, it tells me the session has expired. I lost the tickets.

    I ended up getting 200 level seats, for the same fucking price that I would have paid to get the floor seats that should have been mine. FUCK YOU ROSE GARDEN!

    :banghead::rant::curse:

    Sorry... had to vent to someone.

    :sigh:

    Sometimes I just prefer walking up to the box office instead of trusting the secure credit card pages on the web.
    That does suck. I'm sorry that that happened.

    Sorry, that does suck...

    Not that it helps now, but most of those places also have an automated telephone number you can call. It's a bit more of a process, but there isn't a 2:00 minute window before you lose your tickets. Of course you could take 10 minutes having to slowely pronounce all your info, but you won't be timed-out in the end.

    The other ticket trick I've learned in the past, and this doesn't always happen, is that a week before the show a lot of times they'll release more floor tickets for the public to buy. These aren't advertised, as these are tickets that are held out of the original sale for ticket giveaways from the artists and sponsors. I've on a few ocassions gotten tickets only a few rows back from the stage just days before the show buy clicking on best available seat.

    I guess my point is, tough luck, but you could always become a slimey ticket scalper and make your money back if you are to luck into better seat options.

    I'll admit by the way, as a 35 year old man, who drinks beer, farts and loves sports...

    I love Elton John. I saw him in the garden 2 years ago when he was here. Really was a great show. Wether you like him or not, most people will admit his musical genius.

    Elton John has a lot of great songs. His '70s output is really impressive.

    Mostly I'm interested in going just to say I saw them on tour. I don't expect much of a show at this stage in their careers, and I'm appalled at the price of admission. Also, apparently the tickets that I lost are now on the web going for over $1k a piece. :sigh:

    I went to this show last time, not as a fan of Elton. I left feeling very entertained by both Billy and Elton, it is a great show. They actually play the others music for most of the show. I sat 200 level behind the stage at the top of the RG, and loved every minute of it. So don't worry, you will have a great time!

    You're too young to understand JE. You weren't even born in the 80's brother, so you just couldn't understand.
