do they fit in the sizers? airports are getting more shitty on that. oh yeah, that's another thing I hate...the sizers...some of them are smaller than the 22x14x9 dimensions of rollers. saw the dimensions...i think international carryon is 20".
I hate when I have to check in on international, they have the slowest fucking people ever sometimes they ignore you...can't check in with the kisosks and etickets even if you're only doing carry on. hate the system where you check into the computer then have to wait for someone to call you to check your bags in. another thing that annoys me is when you have to take those stupid fucking buses around..the airplane drops you off and then you have to board a bus.
Assigned seating. People bitch about Southwest's "cattle car" system, but at least if you check in early you are guaranteed not to be sitting between two fat dudes or the talkative geezer. Back in my single days I'd actually time it so that I'd be the last guy to board on the "A" group or early in "B" group. By that point there's bound to be at least one hottie sitting by herself. You've then got a 2 hour flight to figure to hit on her.
Now that I'm happily married, I also hate guys who try to hit on my wife on the plane. Come on, I'm sitting right there.
The only thing that irritates me at all about airports is the useless, cowardly, and unconstitutional infringement of my rights by "Homeland Insecurity" flunkies, which is why I never fly if I can reach my destination in a car.
Greatest trip on an airplane, was my senior year in high school, got placed on the plane next to a Denver Bronco's cheerleader. Extremely nice, I was completely hung over/drunk still from the night before and it was an early morning flight, I was pretty obnoxious and trying to flirt with her the entire time. She was cool about the whole thing, but I had a blast. She was actually a mormon who grew up in Salt Lake and taught in elementary school. All my other times I've traveled seem the exact opposite.
Out of curiosity Maris, what's "driving range" for you? Before we were married, my wife would take regular drives from Sacramento to Portland or Disneyland. 8 to 12 hour drives. For me, that's about 6 hours too long unless it's a bona fide road trip.
I'm not Maris, but I've found driving range varies inversely with age. In my misspent youth, I wouldn't think twice about driving clear across the country for nothing more than a party or to see some girl. Now a drive of more than 20 miles is a long haul. On the other hand, I now don't think twice about flying clear across the country for a party or to see some girl. barfo
