Who knows if any other team out there would be dumb enough to trade him on draft day, all I know is that this kid is a fucking AMAZING basketball player. Elite, elite, ELITE PG prospect--certainly the best I've ever seen (on both ends of the court) LIVE at his age. His current ability is seriously astounding, both offensively and defensively. If dude gets into the draft, KP needs to make it happen. John Wall on this team would be curtains! In fact, if he does become a Blazer when he comes into The League, I'm nominating that as his nickname right now.
He's a stud. Top 5? Yeah, no kidding. I'd say he's the 2 pick if he is eligible for this year's draft.
I'm more excited about Wall than I was Bayless. I would trade bayless and someone else and our pick for the rights to Wall. Wall is the future.
Yeah, Wall and Rubio are two guys I'd give up Bayless and Rudy for. I value both higher than Griffin.
I don't think Bayless alone could possibly get a top-2/3 pick. Among the Blazers other main assets (Roy, Aldridge, Oden, Batum and Rudy), Rudy is the one I'd most be willing to include. Or Outlaw, but I assume Rudy's value is much higher. An elite point guard prospect will take a lot of return value.
I could see maybe UK if (when) Xavier goes there.. both seemed to have a good chemistry on Saturday at the summit.
Also Top 5in 2010 will probably be like Wall, Henry, Davis, Aldrich and Favors. Evan Turner is also a sick guy to watch this year.
As a KU fan, I'd like a decision soon, because Lance Stephenson (Born Ready) could be coming to KU instead.
Obvious caveat: I have never seen the kid play, so what I know about him is based on what I have read about him online. (EG DraftExpress) Among the lowlights: Wall makes bad plays and gets away with it because he is more talented than the people guarding him. Likes to taunt opponents. Likes to blame team-mates for his own mistakes - or just ignores them entirely. Long on ego and short on maturity. Call me a cynic, but all the talk about his raw talent and potential rings a little hollow if the kid is a major headcase! We already had one JR Rider, thank you very much.
Financially, it'd probably be a good decision for Wall to declare considering what a weak draft this is. He's a top 3 talent, and that's assuming that Rubio declares. Basketball wise, hard to say from one game but he definitely has the athleticism to be an immediate contributer in the NBA, I'd think he could get backup minutes at worst. Make it happen KP!
