A litmus test to see how far the bulls have come. Win and they have the inside track and the 6th seed and the struggling Magic. Lose and they get they get the LeBrons and a likely first round sweep.

Anybody have a link to the game?

Derrick Rose basically carries the Bulls back into the game by himself, and then Ben Gordon hits the game winner.

That was still BS. Gordon was clotheslined there. Should have been a flagrant and two.

That would have been the first call they got all night, the officiating was awful. It was like they wanted to avoid throwing Sheed out of his last meaningful game as a Piston.

    Aced the test.

Bulls up 2 over Detroit in the playoff standings. With 1 game to go. Can they passPhilly? Philly has lost 5 straight.

If we pass Philly, we play Orlando. Otherwise Boston.

It was a lot closer than I would have liked, but I can't argue with the result. Makes me glad that Krause broke up the dynasty bulls because I would have hated to watch that team get to the point where they were as disinterested as this Pistons team.

Detroit's already rebuilt after back-to-back championships to win another. Since Krause broke up our team.

Now, it's just between us and Philly. Just need 1 Philly loss now and a Bulls win, or two Philly losses and Bulls lose to Toronto, which I don't see happening at home.

Basically what we have left is:

    Bulls

    Bulls vs. Raptors
    Probability of Winning: 67.5%

    76ers

    vs. Boston
    Probability of winning: 47.5%

    at Cleveland
    Probability of winning: 21.25%

    Scenarios:

    Sixth Seed - 74.13%

    CHI - W PHI - WL (25.25%)
    CHI - W PHI - LW (7.53%)
    CHI - W PHI - LL (27.91%)
    CHI - L PHI - LL (13.44%)

    Seventh Seed - 25.88%

    CHI - W PHI - WW (6.81%)
    CHI - L PHI - WW (3.28%)
    CHI - L PHI - WL (12.16%)
    CHI - L PHI - LW (3.63%)

The bulls won six and the pistons went 15 years between rings, what's your point?

Boston has clinched the second spot, right? I think they start resting people and Philly gets that one. But the Cavs seem to want to keep their home record intact, so I think the Cavs win that one. Where are you coming up with those percentages?

Home record of the home team and road record of the road team to come up with the game probabilities.

Boston should come out hard, to try to resurrect that horrifying loss to the Cavs. You don't want to go into the playoffs playing like crap.

Cavs are still going strong. James played nearly 40 minutes tonight. They're going to go for that home record, so I'm definitely not worried about them throwing in the towel.

I wouldn't hold my breath for the C's to play anybody good for big minutes. But I am hopeful that KG isn't fully recovered. The bulls showed they could play with the C's without KG.

Detroit went to the ECF 6 straight times, finals two of those times, championship one of those times.

Chicago has been pitiful in their rebuilding effort in comparison.

Blowing up the championship team was a giant mistake, as the comparison between the two teams proves.

Detroit's likely to rebuild and contend before we do.

I'll take 6 championships and two ECF's over 1 championship, 1 other finals appearance and 6 straight trips to ECF's. The bulls also had two earlier trips to the ECF and should have gone in 94 except for a bad call by Hugh Hollins. The Jordan years were actually the first rebuilding. I come away feeling the pistons underachieved, and don't forget the pistons had their own lean years and were pretty bad for most of the 90's and let Grant Hill get away (although that turned out to be a blessing in disguise.) There was no disappointing year of transition for the dynasty team where they got beat up by everybody and looked old and depressing. I'm glad. How much would it have sucked to see Jordan struggle to get a bulls team to the playoffs in his late 30's?

And Detroit isn't going anywhere fast with the guys they have. Even if they sign BG.

Jordan was a top 20 player in the NBA while playing for the Wizards at age 39, he was still plenty good. Pippen played on 4 Portland teams that won 59, 50, 49, and 50 games (at age 37). He was still plenty good.

While Detroit rebuilt and went to the ECF 6 times, the Bulls were winning 13, 17, 15, 21, 30, and 23 games.

Detroit kept their team together and lost 20 and 28 games before becoming a contender again (46 wins).

One is the winning formula, the other is the Bulls' failed one.

From 92-93 until 01-02 the pistons made the playoffs only four times and lost in the first round each time. They had one good team that won 54 games, but still lost in the first round, the rest of those teams were mediocre to bad. None of those teams were contenders any more than the bulls were two years ago. The bulls have pretty much done the same thing in the last ten years. This will be their 4th playoff trip, and the bulls have actually won a series in that time. I wouldn't say the pistons have done a better job than the bulls in any way.

    I see.

Two finals appearances and a championship isn't as good as making the playoffs 4 times and winning one series.

    Where's Detroit's streak of 13, 17, 15, 21, 30, and 23 win seasons (6 straight years) during their rebuilding years?

As usual, you are making asinine comparisons. I'm comparing the bulls of the last ten years to the pistons from the nineties. Go back and look, the pistons were every bit as bad as the bulls have been.

Add up your pick of 10 straight years of Detroit's seasons (since their last championship) and I'll stack em up against 10 straight from the Bulls seasons since 1996.
