    I think the Spurs did the year all their players were injured and they got lucky and drafted Tim Duncan. But the Spurs had been a playoff team for years, they just had one off year.

    To add to my Toronto one, they got the 3rd seed in the playoffs after having the Number 1 Pick the previous year. But ya it happens a good amount.

    I should add that I know almost zero about college basketball and I'm not very good at telling you where some players played. Once they're in the NBA, though, I'm on top of it.
