I refuse to spit my pacifier out until we see what happens in Game 2.

I don't care if this team gets swept as long as they play hard and fight for 48 minutes.

He was +1 against Brooks and Artest, and +1 in his last stint against Lowry (-3) and Von Wafer (-5)..

Not saying he was Magic Johnson, just that he was more effective than all our other alternatives at the point, and under his direction we outscored our opponent as usual.

In a game where we had only 12 assists and never once got any rhythm going, where neither Blake nor Roy could rally the troops at either end, it's obvious his lack of PT (10:53 in 3 short stints) was a huge and costly coaching error.

A lot of people see Aldridge as the guy we need to produce to win, but I think the point guard position is just as important. Blake was pitiful tonight and I hope Sergio gets more minutes, but he needs to push the tempo and stop walking the ball up like all the rest of them. Push the tempo and play aggressively. Get Greg Oden the damn basketball, I've been saying this all season but nobody is listening. Despite what you may think, he's a clear advantage on the offensive end. One of Travis or Rudy at the very least, must step up.

I actually do not mind Sergio. I just don't think he would have made much of a difference because McMillan also inexplicably decided to play Rudy so few minutes.

Yao Ming would break Greg Oden.

Oden is strong, but that does not mean he can stop Yao. They tried it and Yao kept scoring on Oden.

Durant is a player that always kills the Rockets

This is actually funny because it is partially true and partially not. When Greg entered the game the first time and played against Yao it is true he was scored against. However in the second half of that game Greg played Yao pretty well despite his inexperience because the refs let them get physical and Greg kept him from getting position and the pass.

Mostly my reason for wanting to start Greg is this: The refs let Greg play physical in the playoffs (if tonight is any indication), Greg has to be guarded on offense just because of his size and strength where Joel really does not and this causes Yao to have to work and expend energy, and I don't think Greg really cares about how someone is guarded at this point in time as long as it is effective and would be okay with the fronting strategy that works against Yao.

While I agree with you that Greg could not stop Yao over the course of a game I think he could cause Yao to work harder simply due to his size and strength moreso than Joel can at this point.

In a close game, Yao won't let Greg have the opportunities he had tonight. Yao Ming is the best defensive big, Dwight is second.

I realize that. However, the effort Yao would still have to put up against Greg would be more than he would have to put up against Joel which costs Yao energy and makes life easier on a driving Brandon Roy. This is not really about Greg being able to score against Yao, but more the thought that Greg has to be respected on offense whereas Joel really does not.

Looks like someone needs to change their maxie pad. :tsktsk: You don't need to be "Nostrafuckingdamus" to see that the Blazers will probably lose this series. Sorry if you don't want me to post here, but perhaps if it really bothers you that much that I think the Blazers will lose this series, you're the one with the problem.

And as much as you may be "competing with the Blazers" in your mind, you're really not. You're just a spectator. Get a grip.
