Yao has been take out of the game by Portland's defense in the last two games. The Rockets won by three tonight with Yao Ming scoring only seven points. The Blazers have a 65% chance to win game 4 and tie the series. They are going to focus on shutting everyone down while fronting Yao on Sunday and the Rockets offense won't be pretty unless Yao steps up big. By game four, teams figure out every Rockets player can be taken out with a man to man defense and a man fronting Yao. Game 4 will be huge.
Game 4 is going to be a Battle Royale. Elbows will be thrown. Tempers will flare. "There will be blood." And the Blazers will win . . .
Roy and Aldridge are going to be big. They want to go back to Portland with the home court. After seeing them play tonight, expect them to come out fired up on Sunday. Rudy Fernandez is a future star in the making. Man has some serious skills. Travis Outlaw has been MIA thus far.
If Rockets take Game 4, series is over. Pressure is on the Blazers since they are playing away and they need to win this game, I expect them to start really well, look for the Blazers to bring some fire to game 4. Rockets need to be ready for whatever, Yao needs to step up.
Yao has scored 18 points on 5-13 shooting these past two games. He stepped up during game one, but Portland has taken him out of the game since. If he doesn't score on Sunday, expect a loss for Houston. Guys like Outlaw, Roy, Aldridge, Fernandez, and Oden are coming to play.
I think it's the other way around. If the Rockets lose Game 4, the series is over. Even if the Blazers lose Game 4, 2 of the last 3 games will be in Portland so they have a good shot at running the table. Game 4 is must win for Houston or they are done.
Well also, if the Blazers lose Game 4 I think this series is over. The Rockets have already played the Blazers close in Portland, I think they pull out one of the last games, road or not.
if we lose game 4 it is all over, we may be able to take 5 and force a 6th but beating a team 3 straight is an extremely tough task, especially when the teams are as even as these two.
Either game 4 or game 6 are must wins at their place and we can't lose at home either throughout the series. At this point Outlaw is in a funk. Why doesn't Nate just bench him and let Rudy eat his minutes.
So after winning game 3, the winning team is on their heels? This type of analysis could only happen in the Blazers forum
