    1) Why does he tell Brandon to dribble down the clock when we are down 2 with 19 seconds left, unless he's planning to have him take the last shot?

    2) Why the fuck does he draw up a fadeaway three for TRAVIS FUCKING OUTLAW when you have assassins like Roy and Rudy on the floor?

God fucking damnit we'd be 2-2 in this series if our coach had half a fucking brain tonight.

    FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK

Oh, and also fuck Houston and their fat, donut-eating fans. They have to be the most unintelligent basketball fans in the league.

We had 9+ seconds before Outlaw chucked that shot.

I'm going into denial about this loss.

    We're not this idiotic.

Which is the more plausible option:

    A) Nate draws up a fadeaway three pointer for Travis Outlaw with plenty of time left on the clock.

    B) Travis Outlaw decides he's going to shoot because he's the biggest ballhog on our team.

    Ergghh...

    That's a tough one.

Soda, realistically speaking, there was no other choice. The rest of our team apparently had headed to the exits thinking the game was over. That's the only logical answer.

Not to mention we did it against one of the worst fourth quarter teams out of the playoff teams.

    This is just humiliating.

    You know what?

I think I can design better out of timeout plays than Nate.

Really? Because I'm pretty sure I saw a certain cold-blooded Spanish killer who wears #5 hit a straightaway three on the next play to at least put the outcome somewhat in doubt.

Rudy also hit a pretty sick baseline three in Game 3 to make the game close there, too.

We've got a couple assassins with ice water in their veins, and Nate draws up a play for the dumbest guy in the arena?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Nate is not the coach that's going to take us to a Championship. He was the perfect guy to lead a young team, trying to get back to the playoffs, but he's not a good enough coach to win in the playoffs. He's constantly outcoached by the best coaches in the league. He doesn't know how to take advantage of mismatches, and he's probably one of the worst coaches at drawing up plays out of a timeout.

It was a joke Pop..of course I think Rudy should've taken it. But then, I also believe Von Wafer is a arrogant pussy.

How do we know the play was for Travis to shoot?

there is no excuse for mcmillian tonight. he has been out coached two games in a row. i'll only give him half the blame on outlaws shot, as most of that was probably our dumb as a rock sf/pf. but to only play rudy 24 minutes is inexcusable. once again, he is the only guy that has played on this kind of a stage and he can't get off the bench. re-fucking-diculous. rudy has shown a knack for being in the right place at the right time on those loose balls but instead we have outlaw who doesn't want to even put forth an effort on that end.

Because in my heart of hearts, I do not believe that Travis could be THAT DUMB at that point in such an important game. It's like telling all of the kids that Santa Claus doesn't exist. I mean, the kid ain't the sharpest tool in the shed, but I have to believe having JUST come out of a timeout that he knew he was supposed to catch the ball and fling it wildly at the rim with 9 seconds remaining.

Wouldn't be the first time the play was for someone else and Outlaw decided to take the shot himself.

You might be right, but good luck convincing anyone in the organization to agree with you.

By the way, not that I disagree with your overall premise, but Nate actually is one of the better coaches coming out of a timeout. There are stats kept on that, and we've been in the top 2 or 3 in the league in +/- coming out of timeout situations.

Tonight was not one of his better efforts, however.

McMillan is a great motivator, but he's not an x's and o's guy, and that's always going to hurt you in the playoffs.

The answer to this question is that Outlaw had been playing well in the game while Rudy had made a total of one shot. Although I still would have preferred Rudy taking it, having Outlaw with that look wasn't a bad plan in my mind.

When has Outlaw ever made a catch a shoot three from the angle, especially when he catches the ball moving away from the basket?

I don't care if Outlaw was 12-12 from the field and 10-10 from the line at that point. Drawing that sort of play up for him is akin to drawing up an alley-oop play for Earl Boykins to catch it at the rim and throw it down off the backdoor cut. Not his game. Can't do it.
