Pretty big news. I was in mexico last week...but the story is really picking up traction. I wonder if my boss had it, he was there in mexico and got pnemonia a month ago...really really bad case of it according to him, he almost died....lucky i left before it got bad but I'm not going to go there until this shit boils over (I was supposed to go next month). What tipped me off was that several airport workers had those masks on. Pretty insane.....that and the drug wars....mexico is a pretty fucked place to be (not to mention the earthquake this AM).
MEXICO CITY – A strong earthquake struck central Mexico on Monday, swaying tall buildings in the capital and sending office workers into the streets. The quake rattled nerves in a city already tense from a swine flu outbreak suspected of killing as many as 149 people nationwide. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090427/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/lt_mexico_earthquake
epicenter was 50 miles from where I was last week. I put it in the random stupid thoughts about another quake about a month ago. freaky shit down there. must have pissed off god. i still think that some of their things have to do with disease spreading. for instance, when you're taking a shit, you have to put the toilet paper with the wiped turd in a basket next to the toilet. fucking lame.
48 deaths in the United States makes it a killer that is pretty low on the totem pole. You're millions of times more likely to die because of your bad diet, lack of excercise, and the host of toxins you expose yourself to everyday. Yet there may be more to this than meets the eye. The anthrax mailings that took place after 9-11, turns out that the anthrax came from American military base Fort Detrick, the FBI was going to bring one of the top Army scientists Bruce Edward Ivins to trial, but he commited suicided before the trail could take place. Or perhaps he "commited suicide". Some scientists who have analyzed this virus, say it has the hall-marks of a biological weapons.
Speaking of preparedness, congressional Republicans stripped the economic stimulus plan of $900 million for state and local pandemic-readiness programs, and $462 million for the CDC. What does a pandemic have to do with economic recovery? So far, the prospect of worldwide swine flu is causing market panics.
They've cancelled all high school sports in Texas until May 11, hopefully this doesn't affect the Blazers when they're down there!
Ouch! Not very nice HCP! Bad karma for you considering you are on your way to Houston right now for Game 6.
