2008/2009 season, you know we been through so much, my heart is just full of feeling for you. We had some good times together. The Brandon miracle three, getting Greg healthy, discovering the potential of Nic, the emergence of LaMarcus, and so many other beautiful moments. All those good things just make my heart swell with pride. There were times when I thought that we would always be together. And we also had some tough times, season. There were times you hurt me so bad, I had to go on long walks with my dog and cry silent tears as I scooped his doo. Sometimes I thought that you weren't serious, that you were only playing around. Sometimes I questioned whether or not we should even be together at all. There were those two dagger losses to the Clippers and Magic. I really thought we had those teams beat, season, but we couldn't pull them out. It hurt me deep inside. Turns out, we really needed those wins after all -- maybe you and I would have lasted a little longer if we had won the division together and taken on the Spurs. But I guess it wasn't meant to be. I know we both learned so much about each other, season, and I know that there will be other seasons to come. But right now I just want to send out my propers to what we had, and what you represented. Peace out, 2008-2009. You know that you will always be in my heart. That's exactly right, Barty -- glad to see you're not afraid to let your feelings out either. Here, you can use this dry corner of my kleenex.
What else have we learned from this season? -Channing Frye will be out of the League in a few years. -Sergio still can't hit a barn with an elephant. -Greg isn't close to being a consistent contributer. -Brandon Roy is scary good. -LaMarcus started out slow but now looks like the second coming of 'Sheed. -Travis still has the basketball IQ of a fence post.
It's been a great season and the Blazers gave me several memories that I'll always remember. Being at the games this year were tremendous, the crowd was great and it's been a joy to see Rip City back. Being at those two playoff victories were the most fun I've had at a Blazer game. I can't wait for October to come!
