HCP, I love the blanket. One question: Was it worth the money? Problem is, after a night of drinking, if I lay out on the sofa, I feel like if I put that thing on, I'd be out in 5.
- Mo Lucas is getting better. - For the team to be successful, Brandon and LA have to be successful. They're Priority 1 and 1A this offseason on July 1. They'[re going to make "good fair deals so they're here for a long time." - Team options on Steve and Travis that have to be exercised before the end of June. Sees 'no reason' they'll get renounced or get their option not picked up. They're coming back for sure.
- KP doesn't know if Travis was nervous in the playoffs. Travis made big shots all year long. Many teams have taken five, six, seven years to get out of the first round so it doesn't happen immediately. Feels Outlaw learned a lot to raise his level of game. "There is no way we're giving up on Travis Outlaw."
- Freeland, Nicolas, Koponen and Rudy will be playing for their national teams this summer. And KP will be in Europe this summer a lot to watch them play. - KP hasnt seen anyone more upset in his last game than Rudy was after Game 6. He was apologizing, which makes Rudy special. He's one of the best teammates to have. Rudy felt he let the franchise down.
- In regards to the best friend thing between Roy-Travis and Sergio-Rudy and whether they wouldn't get rid of them because of that, KP said it plays a little part but it doesn't factor into any decisions in the end. Guys have to fit into the team now. They know they're a 54-win team now and they have to fit in with what being a Blazer is all about. End interview.
Ha! There is no way in HELL that Portland wouldn't get him if Portland wanted him (assuming that he doesn't already have a buyout). That sounds like Pritchard's not really that interested. Freeland should get good experience playing for GB, provided Deng is no longer injured and Ben Gordon's contract situation is sorted. He might be behind Pops Mensah-Bonsu though (they've both got similar games and I think both play C for GB). I wonder if Sergio might get back in the Spanish national team. He certainly deserves it at least as much as Raul Lopez, although Lopez probably gets home-country favoritism for playing for Real Madrid. And Sergio Llull would probably be next in line for the same reason.
How do you figure? He's a first round draft pick. As such, we're limited in what we could offer him. A European club could offer him a lot more money. For a lot of guys, it is about playing against the best, like Rudy, but if he was to make 4 million a year over there, he could very easily stay for that over 800,000 per here.
Love the fact that Roy and LA are priority 1 and 1A. At least Pritchard knows what the most important part of the offseason will be.
I've read interviews. He wants the NBA bad. And, especially given the economic downturn, it's very unlikely he'd be offered more money than a rookie contract. He's not a Rudy - he still isn't starting for Gran Canaria. And finally, he's not a Fran Vasquez either: there's no league worth shit in his (my) home country, so it's a choice between a foreign country where he doesn't speak the language and the USA, a foreign country where he does.
They're going back to the G.O. thing and whether he should be in Portland to work out. Rice is old-school and wants him to be in Portland, while the rest of the crew doesn't think it matters. Wheels: "You're going to deny his right to an education?" Rice: "Yes!"
I wouldn't mind seeing Freeland come over. He wouldn't be any worse as a 15th man than Shavlik was, and we'd be able to develop him or see if he's capable of playing in this league.
Being in Portland might compound his pressure, even in the off=season. Going back to school might be the best thing for him.
Just being pragmatic here, but what the hell is the point of Greg going to Summer school? Seriously, is he going to summer school every year for the next 8 years to get his degree or what? Those credits do have a shelf life. Why not just finish your career, and go back to school when you're 35 or whatever. Not like he'll have to financial aid. LOL! At that time, he'll know what he wants to do and can concentrate just on school. Seems to me like he just misses college life.
Getting back home is a good thing, especially for him I agree. I just hope he works out and gets in really really good shape. Playing ball against whomever at Ohio State won't be enough.
