Yeah, you'd think. I mean, Yao is one big injury away from producing NBA gear, rather than wearing it...

    Wrong answer. You fail. Congratulations!

When a large chunk of the crowd chants, "Portland sucks" multiple times, or several fans were enraged by Portland's standing ovation for Mutumbo, when he was injured in Portland, it's pretty clear their fans are worthless.

I was there that game. Three rows, about 9-10 seats to the left. Dude was a bitching and moaning, and deserved to be hit. That being said, I've heard way worse from many fans, yet they didn't get their appetite fed by a fist (at least not by that of an NBA athlete). Mad Max wasn't given his nickname by coincidence.

Their fans were enraged by that? That's just stupid if true. I mean it doesn't even make sense. Did they want us to boo and throw stuff at Deke? On second thought, that's probably what they'd do to one of our players.

Fuck em. For the first time in my life I'm rooting for the L*kers.

Shit. Let's hope all fan bases aren't judged by their message boards.

Note: "several" Houston fans were upset about our standing ovation for Deke. I saw "fans" complaining on message boards, I saw it mentioned in an article or two. They were offended we'd give an ovation to their player. Bullshit, bitches. He had a good career, and aside from the mentioning of his rumored interest in strippers/prostitutes, never heard much negative about him.

Same reason why I can't root for the Rockets, as worthless as the Lakers, their fans, and *edited*

Fuck their fans. I'm sure those few people don't represent their whole fan base. Go Rockets!!! Great team to root for. Yao is a big man who has actually put in the time to learn how to make free throws. No Hack-a-Yao. And Brooks is from The University of Oregon. Worked hard to become a starting PG in this league. Wafer has worked hard to carve a role for himself in this league. Before every game that I saw last season when Wafer was with us, he was working on his shooting obsessively. And how can you not root for Adelman after all the close calls he's had with us and the Sacramento Kings. This might be Houston's year. That thrasing at the Rose Garden might've been the start of a magical title run.

Guys, I know the whole story. The Rockets fan that tried to dump a beer on Pritchard wasn't a Rockets fan at all. It was mediocre man. The problem was he was trying to dump the beer on Nate, but missed.

I was asked if I supported the right to protest. I said yes. The reply is no more irrelevant than the question.

BACK to the topic at hand if I have your permission, BlazerBeav? (or even if I don't)

I am rooting for Houston for 3 reasons:

    1) I would root for the Devils from Hell if they were playing the Lakers
    2) Jackson's Bulls defeated Adelman's Blazers. It would be nice for Rick to get revenge.
    3) If the Rockets win, it means they are one of these "teams of destiny" that don't seem really special in the regular season but get super hot in post season. And then there would surely be no shame in them beating Portland. In fact, that would be a footnote to them beating the Lakers.
    4) I am SOOOOO sick of every commentator saying "everyone" wants to see "Kobe and LeBron", like this was a tennis match between individuals. On general principle, I always root against what it is proclaimed "everyone" wants.
    5) I would loathe Kobe Bryant even if he were not a Laker.

As to the asshole "fans", is it such a surprise there are assholes in the world who think booze and a ticket give them the right to show the world what jerks they are? I say again the responsiblity is with arena staff to throw them out. And the chant of "Portland sucks" is hardly rough fare - I hear "_____ sucks" all the time at games (Yankees suck, Lakers suck, Giants suck, you name it).

Getting on Blazers fans because they gave Mutumbo an ovation is just a bunch of hicks too dumb to recognize class and intelligence. :devilwink: Not the fault of the players or of Adelman.

If you root for the Lakers, then I don't know that I can call you a die hard Blazer fan. Don't think of it as wanting the Rockets to win as much as wanting the Lakers to lose.

Except of course I originally said I was rooting for the Rockets for 3 reasons, then thought of 2 more but did not edit post. Whoops.

Nope ... sorry ... can't root for Houston. I want their fat, ignorant, racist fans to suffer the agony of losing a playoff series. The sooner the better.

As for the Lakers, nobody here will question my hatred of them. I'll have no problem rooting for their demise once they knock off the Rockets.

But ... right now ... rooting for the Rockets would feel like giving a guy $100 after he kicked my ass.

To each his own I guess.

The Rockets were the better team in that series and they won. Good for them. Yeah some of their fans are pieces of shit, but so what.

After I've been in a good fight, I've always gained respect for the one I've fought, unless they were still disrespecting me afterward. It sounds like the Rockets were giving plenty of respect to the Blazers. I'm sure there's a mutual respect between the two teams.
