He definitely isn't as good as they think he is. He is better than some give him credit for though. Overall, he is a below average player, imo.

Even if he sucks, he's still better than any other PG we have. He certainly deserves more PT. I hope he gets it somewhere.

And the Spanish National team is the second best in the world. Barely. And Sergio deserved to be on it ahead of Raul Lopez, that's for sure. It's just because he wasn't getting PT that he got left off.

Sergio is a decent PG in an up tempo game, but he bogs down running set offenses. He's a streaky shooter, poor defender and is barely a legit #2 PG. He has good court vision, but gets too fancy with his passe at times.

He's a great passer, but if he can't keep defenses honest with his shooting that negates his main asset. Teams just pack it in on him daring him to shoot. That's what he should be concern about, getting better at shooting the ball, just as Nate says rather than complaining about different styles.

Sergio isn't that good. I don't think he is that great of a passer. 3rd year player that declined. Right, its the coaches fault. Victor Kyrapa, Sergei Monia, and Sergio Rodriguez are all the same player. Gonna guess he is as good as gone.

I think Sergio's a great passer and overall a pretty good backup for a young guy. Overall I'm certainly happy that he's a Blazer, even if he's not ready to start on a good NBA team just yet.

Pretty delusional. To be a great passer, you have to do it when it means something, not when scrubs are on the floor. Sergio hasn't and can't do that.

I'm a fan of Spanish. It's a neat sounding language. But what does my being a fan of the Spanish language have to do with Sergio?

Actually being able to make scrubs look good is even MORE impressive to me than being able to do it when superior offensive players are on the floor.

Sergio is more of a victim of the system Nate walks (Nate does not run anything)

Let's pretend D'Antoni was our coach instead of Nate. Sergio would be the most popular player on the roster. Look what he did to Duhon for crying out loud?

Sergio has a lot to work on, but if Nash were here Nate would tell him the same things he told Sergio. No, I am not comparing the two talentwise, but their games are similar other than Nash can shoot better.

Which means Ds can't cheat on him without paying a price which makes him much more effective. That right there is a big difference and one of the main things that keeps Sergio on the bench.

Sergio has flashes of great play. Sadly it only happens a handful of times a season. I won't miss him.

i'd love to see sergio work on and develop a mid-range game. his 3 pt shot isn't good, but it was skewed pretty heavily on the # of heaves he took at the end of quarters. he does need to develop a somewhat consistant jumper to keep teams honest. and the second half of the season he was actually finishing around the basket at a pretty good rate.

to say that he is anything less than a great passer is assine and not worth reading.

So far the fans don't believe in Sergio. As of 5/11/09 at 8:35 his approval rating by our oregonian fans are horrible.
