Yea I saw that too, and to be honest, I hope it happens. What I actually think is interesting is the way he talks about it, it sounded like he has requested to be traded several times over the last few years, not just now. The reason being, is he talks about "this time having a higher chance"...as opposed to what other times? How many times has he requested to be traded?

I really hope Sergio ends up on a team like NY and absolutely destroys the league. I'm not saying he will, but it would make me happy if he did.

Sounds like Sergio wants his big payday after this next season.

I really doubt Sergio would destroy the league even if he got traded to the Knicks. Almost any PG gets over rated in that system Duhan, Robinson etc. Sergio is ok and he can run the break ok but he can't even make the Spanish national team. I think there are a couple posters that way over rate Sergio.

As soon as he is not a Blazer, I wish him nothing but utter failure. :tsktsk:

I wish him nothing but the best but I really doubt that even in NY he will destroy the league. D'antoni's system works if you make fantastic decisions in a fast pace (something Sergio is not as good as some here think - when you actually look at his disgusting turn-over rate) and can score - even Duhon which is a much better scorer than Sergio and even in NY's fast pace had a lower TOV% than Sergio did not exactly set the NBA on fire...

Please, please, please trade his sorry ass. I absolutely can't tolerate this kind of whining. Playing time is earned, not given. Sergio still has the same holes in his game he had as a rookie (can't shoot, poor defense, high turnovers). Yes, Sergio I agree - a change is needed. You want more PT? Simple - play better. Otherwise, I'll be more than happy to see you go.

If he played for D'Antoni (or Nelson) I'm guessing you'd probably see him play 20-25 minutes (max), shoot 42% (max) from the field, and probably have a line that looks something like 8 pts/6 assists/2.5 rebounds/1.5 steals/3 TOs per game with a PER of about 14. Which would make him a decent player, but probably never anybody you'd point to and say "all-star"

I wish him all the best.

I had high hopes for Sergio, but watching him run around with his head cut off on defense and seeing him brick shot after shot, I don't know if he could ever really develop the way I had wished. Not to mention that he has trouble finishing in the lane.

When was the last time we had a PG that could really finish at the rack? Strickland? Has it really been that long?

I believe the question was "PG". In the opinion of most, Jack didn't really qualify.

Duhon has real talent. He plays D (guard Kobe in fact), really runs an offense well as a PG, is pass first, finishes well among the trees, and he has a lot of range on his shot. He's incredibly streaky though.

From what I've seen, he's a ton better than Sergio.

I agree 100% Duhon isn't a bad point at all ... just not spectacular in any area.

I agree 100% - and that's why I think that the idea that Sergio will take over the league if he plays for D'antoni is very far fetched, since Duhon did not exactly put himself in the Steve Nash category playing there...

i agree that some over value sergio but alot of people under value him as well. much the same with just about anyone on this blazer roster. he will probably be better in a situation that suits his style. for this same reason, i don't understand why we would want a PG like rubio (not that it's even a realistic chance of getting him.) If nate is the coach that type of PG just isn't going to work.

Maybe because Rubio is simply a better overall player than Sergio? He's only 18, actually plays great defense, and has incredible BBIQ that Sergio just doesn't have. On top of that, he's as good, and even arguably a better passer than Sergio.

IDK who undervalues Sergio... I don't think we could get more than a 2nd round pick for him at the moment. What do you think Sergio is worth?
