Chili Peppers can never get old, there are just so many good albums, and so many different musical styles to their albums, if you want Rock, you got Rock Albums like Californication. You want Funk you got their old stuff. You want a brilliant Mix of Rock and Funk with a whole bunch of Masculinity.. you have BSSM. Feeling lighter and happy? By The Way is great. Amazing band to me, and even more amazing is their story and how they started out as kind of a joke band.

I have yet to hear a Chili Peppers song that doesn't make me want to rip my eardrums out of my head with a pair of needlenose pliers.

I'm wrong? You mean I don't want to rip my eardrums out of my head with a pair of needlenose pliers, I want to suck them out through my nose with a penis pump?

When I hear the Red Hot Chili Peppers, I usually pour molten lead into my ears through a funnel.
    It kills the sounds alright.

Do the Chili Peppers sing any songs that aren't about California?

I can't listen to any of them long enough to figure out what they're about. I like the lead idea, but don't you run the risk of heavy metal poisoning?

Just thought I'd bump this to say thanks for the suggestions. So far I'm really into the Pixies, Vampire Weekend and Belle & Sebastian tunes. Going on a trip to the coast tomorrow and plan on loading up a lot more songs.

If you're a fan of Jack White, he's in a new band called "The Dead Weather." They just released an album a couple weeks ago.

And if you're into RHCP, especially their earlier albums, I highly suggest Funkadelic. I've been on P-Funk binge for a while now. Their first 4 albums are great and have a lot of variety (their first two give you more of the funk sound, their 3rd features Hendrix-esque guitar playing, the 4th if more overtly political).

The new Rancid album kicks ass... Let the Dominoes Fall. There are some great acoustic versions of the songs available on iTunes also.

    My favorite song from it:

    Hello darkness, my old friend
This year, so far, my favourite albums have been from The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart (noise pop/shoegaze), Grizzly Bear (psychedelic indie pop), jj (balearic dance-pop), Super Furry Animals (hmm...eclectic indie pop? ;)) and El Goodo ('60s-style guitar pop).
