Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Nuggets (Series tied 2-2) Agreed, the bench is killing us. Kobe tried everything to keep us in the game, but he can't do it alone, someone else besides him and Pau need to step up. Dihrtay Jones better get suspended for Game 5, there's no place for that kind of tripping shit. Then he makes comments after the game "If he can't respect my defense, I'm sorry." GTFO newb. When the fuck are we going to stop giving Sasha playing time? He's supposed to be our JR Smith/Shooter type player, yet he provides us WITH NOTHING (literally NOTHING). So frustrating, this team has some real issues with the bench. The plays they are running with Birdman and Nene we can easily do with our bigs....it's all dribble penetration, yet we're not executing (shout outs Kob) at ALL.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Nuggets (Series tied 2-2) I'm not surprised the Lakers lost last night, but I am disappointed again in how they lost. It is tough to win two games on the road in the playoffs especially in the WCF. It rarely happens and the Nuggets have been playing better than the Lakers in this series. Last night was another Game 4 debacle by this Lakers team. I knew from the opening minutes we had no chance. The Nuggets were fired up and the Lakers were lethargic and tentative. Nuggets rallied around a sick Carmelo Anthony and Kobe had to play 1 on 4 majority of the night. We committed all the cardinal sins playing on the road. 1. Missed free throws 2. We were dominated on the glass 3. Our bench was dominated Fortunately this Laker team has a short memory and I expect them to rebound in Game 5 with an impressive victory. We'll return to Denver and fall flat on our face again, but then head to LA and prevail in Game 7.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Nuggets (Series tied 2-2) Lakers were awful last night from what I saw. It was by far one of the most pathetic performances I've seen from them in a long time. They were getting beat to every single loose ball and the only people that showed up were Kobe and Gasol. If the Lakers are going to win this series, they have to get contributions from elsewhere. They also need to not give up 20 offensive rebounds, that'd help too. All in all, the Lakers were pitiful last night. Also, Jones needs to get knocked the fuck out. I hope the Lakers throw some Mbenga in for 30 seconds tomorrow night just to level that useless piece of shit.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Nuggets (Series tied 2-2) Also, just to put this out there, but we really missed a golden opportunity last night with 'Melo off as much as he was. He's not going to be that awful again this series, and we couldn't take advantage of that.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Nuggets (Series tied 2-2) Why would they? "They only play good in stretches," according to Phil. They are just pacing themselves so that stretch is longer.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Nuggets (Series tied 2-2) How is Ariza feeling Shape? Is he ok? I wonder if anyone else here knows too.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Nuggets (Series tied 2-2) Ariza was the victim of foul trouble last night because the Laker bigs weren't running back on defense. Denver also did a nice job of running him off the three point line last night. I think he'll rebound fine at home in Game 5 though. I just wish Odom had the same motor Birdman has. You have to respect the passion Birdman plays with on the court.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Nuggets (Series tied 2-2) I'd trade Odom for Birdman. I really would. I don't think Denver would, though.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Nuggets (Series tied 2-2) I disagree, Melo is clearly injured, he is like running at 70% of normal speed, he is more of a liability than a help imo. I don't think he will play much better in the next game, his defense is pretty bad as well right now. He would be better to sit out game 5, and see if his sprained ankle improves any.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Nuggets (Series tied 2-2) Yeah, that game was possibly LA's second worst showing. THe first has gotta be the blowout against a very undermanned Houston team. The only good news we could've gotten from that game was that Kobe wasn't as exhausted so he can perform better in game 5. Bynum's getting better production and so is Luke. AND Fisher's minutes are lessened. I do predict a game 5 win and that the refs either might be giving us alot of favorable calls due to what Phil said, OR they may choose to respond badly and give the same bullshit calls and no-calls that we're having lately.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Nuggets (Series tied 2-2) I was watching the game with a few guys who played college ball. They were also upset about the officiating because of the inconsistency. In the 1st quarter the officials were letting the guys play and the game was very physical. They said as players you adjust your game to how officials are calling a game early on and it's the officials job to keep that consistent. In the 2nd quarter the officials did a 180 and started calling ticky tack fouls and it completely disrupted the rhythm of the game. I know how frustrating it is to play in those situations. There's was a lot of calls the Lakers got away with whacking Melo early on and a lot of moving screens by the Lakers big men.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Nuggets (Series tied 2-2) Yeah, i know. We got away with some calls as well, but it isn't as noticeable because they got the calls in the 4th quarter and they made it look like breathing on Melo was enough for a foul.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Nuggets (Series tied 2-2) Big Drew with a miss. Hard foul by Drew. Love it. Jones going to the line.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Nuggets (Series tied 2-2) Nene whistled for a foul on Drew off the ball. I can't stand watching Jones' dirty fouls on Kobe. He deserves to have his face wrecked. Ariza for two!
